I was wondering how the true speed backs are doing in GLB?
I don´t see many of them, it seems as if most backs are now either power backs, elusive backs or balanced backs.
But is it possble to have succes with a pure speed back, including in the pros? Or have all defensive players become so fast that there is no point in trying?
And how fast is "fast" in a speed back, and by how much and when should agility be capped?
And while we´re at it, in which order should the attributes be capped? Speed/agility/carrying/vision/strength?

Thanks

I think a lot of people that say they have elusive backs actually have speed backs, so yeah I'd say speed backs are pretty common. IMO, a 100 speed, 80 agility back isn't elusive so much as a speed back. I don't know if that's what you mean when you refer to a speed back though. If you're talking like 120 speed and like 60 agility, then Idk if I've ever seen one. But I'd consider plenty of backs in GLB right now to be speed backs.

For a speed back, I'd say the order of priority goes Speed-agility-carrying-vision, pretty much just how you listed it above, but i don't think strength matters much.

That's funny... That's exactly how I'd designate an elusive back.
Speed>Agi>Carrying>Vision>SAs
or Speed>Agi>SAs>Carrying>Vision

Yeah, but an elusive back versus speed back I'd say there's a larger difference in the speed to agility ratio. I'd say true elusives hover somewhere in the neighborhood of 1:1

Could be, but I think once you have 80-85 agi it's pretty much fruitless to raise it any more, and I can't say the same for speed.

As I read your posts you can raise speed all you want, you can never have too much. But how much agility is enough? You would probably have to skip something in order to really get high speed.
But how do these runners perform, and on what settings?
Calling a player a speed back you would think he would rely on speed to get away from defenders, and not so much jukes and other elusive stuff - so should the running slider be set to balanced instead of elusive?

Not balanced, but not hardly as elusive as super elusive or +99
I think 85 agility is the highest number without sacrificing something else that agility should be brought to. that's just my opinion though and you'll likely find people who think it should be lower or higher.
speed... the sky's virtually the limit. if you get to 120 with equipment though, you're probably sacrificing too much.
110 with custom is reasonable if you're really speedy.
You want carrying also and some variety of SAs.
There are mixed opinions on whether vision is required or not, even for pure elusives.
And even if someone agrees on vision being high, how high is another question.
I'd say 50-55 vision will do you well. Lower than that doesn't really hurt you but if you have that you're a pass option with your agility and vision alone screens will be reliable as will any 2-11 yard pass depending on how heavily you're covered.

bla bla bla I talk too much
figure it out

Thanks to both of you for clarifying this. Much appreciated!

My speed backs are doing reasonably well. Although I think most speed and elusive HBs are slowly just becoming receiving HBs.

i don't agree with that at all. in fact, in light of this and last season it's probably close to completely wrong.

Since the HF/Juke nerf, speed HB's are pretty good.

My RB has basically been designated down to a Scat back, hasn't had much luck rushing these past 2 seasons.

Agreed.
Nothin like a long handoff imo

I would say 100 speed does not make a speed back. Mine's got way more than that.

If the HB is level 24 or below, I think 100 speed would make him a speed back.
