I don't post on the forums much but when I do post, it's usually here.

I came here to tell you that last night my friend died in a car crash. She was my age (17) and a drunk driver took her away from her family. The guy passed out behind the wheel and hit her head on. Both her and her younger brother died (14).

Not only was she my friend, she was my cousin's first love which I don't know what to begin to think is going through his head. I'm scared to call him and talk to him.

Please, everybody pray for her and her family. This was one of those special people you meet who could make you laugh in your darkest times.

Thank you.

Definitely call your cousin when you can. It doesn't matter what you say, he'll know you care about him.

Prayers go out to you. I hate drunk drivers with a passion.

The sad reality is that it's a "socially acceptable" crime that people really don't want to see prosecuted all that vigorously for the most part.

I know what you're going through. I lost a friend and a future teammate the same way in 1998 to a drunk driver. I knew her well and didn't know him at all. Then when I got to college, found out he would have been a teammate of mine. Condolences...

It's sad that things like this happen, I just wish people would take a step back and think about something and act responsibly instead of putting themself in a huge, metal deathtrap and acting like a moron. I understand that people don't act resposibly when they are drunk, but they should do it beforehand, they should have a designated driver if they are getting plastered or tell a friend to keep them from driving if they get too drunk. And if you're with a person who is drunk and wants to drive, you should try and stop them. They maybe angry with you at the time but they'll thank you later.

Sad how acceptable drunk driving still is. I have lost two "friends" because I moved about 30 miles away and wasn't willing to spend all night drinking and then get behind the wheel to go home.
