I don't agree. I say once you can cap speed you do it. I understand that some feel you lose out on training at lvls lower than 32 or so, but I would rather have the natural lvl gains. Of course I'm no math scientist so theres probably someone who can tell me why I'm wrong.

Gotta cap at or before level 5 or the loss in automatic level value is diminished. Otherwise, you're fine.
My level 5 NT still hasn't 2:1 capped strength even though he could have at level 3. It's almost trained to 28, which is a good minimum imo.
For some classes it's really unreasonable to get a skill to 33 before capping it the first time (if it's your first attribute; otherwise there's no excuse.)

Makes sense to me. I guess it really depends on the position. I would say for hb's cap speed as soon as possible, you can train agility/vision after that.

That is unless your a powerback or super elusive build. I have a super elusive build and capped agility as soon as possible, I have to say it sucked due to there being nothing good to train speed with at that lvl. I know it's not stamina.

if you don't believe in vision, there's nothing good to train with agility either.

i'm not sure what it means to have automatic level value diminished after level 5? i may be missing it cause i'm slow...but i don't get it

Well I think every position needs vision. HB is one where I have read high vision may hurt more than help. Who knows. I think what he means by the lvl 5 thing is, by not 48 capping something by lvl 5 you are hurting your build by not getting the value out of the lvl ups. You know after 48 it takes 2 points to go up 1 point. Take my super elusive back I had agility at 68 natural, and I found a +2 agility +1 quick cut AEQ. So at that point that +2 agility would have cost me 8 sp's to go up 2 more points. So I got great value out of the piece.

i'm basically asking if there's a mathematical advanatage to waiting IF you can't cap something by level 5 (which you always can...)

I am 100% positive that capping ASAP is a better use of skills for most positions...maybe the positions that only get .33 per level up come close...but I'm pretty sure even they get a statistical advantage.

Centers are gaining 1 point per lvl up. I would think capping then asap would make alot of sense. HB's it's takes 4 lvls to get a point. I saw a write up of some dude that was way better than me with math and he said even if you can cap at lvl 3 wait till lvl 5 due to the training.
