it works well if you also have high speed and high agility.

yeah. He's pretty useless at this point. But his bars sure do look pretty.

With high strength, you will always occupy a place in Underdog's heart

Misled has a place in my heart for other things. It's definitely not his builds. (Kidding )

He got a sack the other game because the quarterback ran into him because the linemen couldn't push him around. I literally LOLed when I looked at that replay, I don't remember where it was, maybe it was last season.

Look at him turning on those jets http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=669039&pbp_id=2449257

lol how did I not even notice that play. That's hilarious. It's like the bulldozer part from Austin Powers.

he'd play better right now if you put eq into speed and agility rather than strength. not that it matters how he plays now.

Mine can't really get much done, but he got 3 sacks in a blowout, which he wouldn't have done last season, that's for sure! Last season he was awful, but then the D-line was pretty awful in general anyways. This season he's fast enough to put his equip all in strength, and he's at least getting some reverse pancakes, but he still hasn't had much impact yet outside of 3 sacks in a blowout. Maybe he'll perform when he has more chances to get the HB later this season, there haven't been many HB rushes up the center against us so far. He sometimes looks he'd be very good at pass rushing if he were faster, he can get off the block or a reverse pancake while bull rushing pretty quick, but he can't get to the QB fast enough yet...

At least he can actually get sacks in blowouts this season. Who knows, he looks pretty effective sometimes this season, maybe he will be once we face an up the middle rushing team.

In the works.
He doesn't get a lot of stats but makes the LBs jobs MUCH easier.
I am about to add another dimension to his bag-o-tricks, but I will wait to see how it works first.

Got a level 40 guy who starts and is in the hunt for D MVP this season (yeah, it is early). Got 8 sacks already.

My thinking is a Str DE is overall more valuable than an agility on a global view of the game. OK, so he does not fly around the conrner of a OT like a speed or agility rush DE, but with a 70+ speed and agility, I have him on combo rush style - and he is still effective. More importantly, he is not taken out on a run play.

I have seen countless DE's be ineffective if being run at. Don't get me wrong, he can still make plays down the field or on the other side of the field - but if being run at, more often than not, they are either pancaked or held long enough for the RB to be by them. Not nearly as often with a strong DE. Breaks blocks and throws people around like rag dolls. Some of my favorite plays are when he gets double-teamed by the TE and ROT, pancakes both of them (or perhaps they may inefective cut blocks) and makes the tackle behind the line...

So - My DE is used for both elements of the game. Already has 46 tackles (one blow out game only), 8 sacks, 3 PD (something not looked often enough in a DE - all of these are at the line) and 20 hurries.
Str rushing is very effective, perhaps not as "pretty" as a speed rush - but effective none-the-less as he has better chances for hurries and PD by running through the blocker than around. Notice I did not say sacks...

I am sure some will disagree - but can you argue that a speed/agility based DE is not nearly as effective if the opponent is not passing the ball often?

36 tackles were in that blowout though.

yeah - that is high. OK - 14 tackles over the other 5 games (just finished another). That is more inline with his "normal" season.

But, you do have to agree that if the DE gets taken out on a run play, his blocker moves on to make another block and huge holes open up. Worst case is if he holds the block (due to high strength and not pancaked) the OLB behind him is more often freed to make the tackle - just as the football gods draw it up.

I do think the admins/game administrators are making it tougher to make a true dominant force. Frankly - that is as it should be. Is there a perfect build that always works? No.
Even the Huge speed/agility rushers that used to get 50 sacks a season are finding it much tougher - would you agree?

If you had ot do it all over again - would those of you who preach agility and speed as neccessary triple and quadruple cap those stats as fast as possible still, knowing he is not as effective agsint the rush?

Rhetorical questions...
