Whats your opinion for a DT. Theres many routes to go with builds. If you wanted a all out pass rusher. Whats gonna get sacks Agility with some Speed. Or pumping up Strength to the ceiling first ?

For a D.T. i think you need a bit of both. with more agility and roughly 80ish speed. You could get away with 70 speed it's just not as fun as 80 speed.

80/80/100. Is kinda what you want to shoot for.

For a DT, you need both. I am finally finding is strength is what will allow the DT to bust through the line, i.e. reverse pancake, then the speed and agility is what helps to get a jump on the snap and then track down the QB after he mows through the OL.

strength and agility are added together in the calculations that determine whether you break a block or not. you want to get the combined total as high as possible. having high agility has the added benefit of moving well when not engaged by a blocker, and acceleration.

whereas strength has the added benefit of having your player hold his ground better and not get pushed back during running plays

You crazy crazy fool, the only thing that counts in GLB are pass plays and sacks! Both stats help with making tackles and STR probably helps a ton with forcing fumbles.

As a "pass rushing" DT, I personally took both to 77.x cap but its up to you. If you really want to specialize in pass rushing, I guess leaving STR at 68 would leave you more points for other things.

I get what yall are saying. Right now without the other attributes my guy is 80Str/31Spd/60Agi. With all equipment inot Strength. So to be a sack machine DT. I'm basically done with strength for a while. I need to put sp's towards pumping speed/agility up. to get that 80/80/100. My tackling is at 39. Am I good there and just train it everyonce in a while?

62/31/60 natural right now. All 3 at 77 natural.Seems like I would need to invest equipment into all 3 attributes at some point in his career

speed isnt that important for DT sacks....still important but not as much as it is for DEs who can run around blockers.

my dt is at 85str 105agi (level 57 though) 70 spd. hes had 3 sacks in 4 games so far (3 preaseason 1 reg season game)

I think most people here would disagree that speed isn't that important for DT sacks.

+1 btw bigfatguy, 70 spd is too low.

70 speed is like the min for a pass rushing DT. you will still get some pressure but you won't get a lot of sacks and be a force. 74 is about where you start turning hurries into sacks and disrupting most plays. somewhere above 76 you will be a factor on nearly every play.

Maybe slightly higher at the Pro level, especially with mobile QBs and a blazing WR corps.

TV and super high agility can make up for spd in the 70s

you said you have 70 speed, I am telling you that is the bare minimum, pump it up more and provided your DC gives you the opportunity to make plays, you should see them.

Thats another thing that hasnt been mentioned, if you have a DC who doesnt give you a good matchups, you will not see much or any production at all, doesnt matter how good your build is. Three man lines on pass plays and four man lines shifted to the left can leave your DT in difficult passing situations.
