How does having vision on a DE help him?

It helps see the play...Trying to get after the RB..Or the QB after you get around..I can show you quite a few replays of my own DE...Where his vision bits him in the ass, he gets faked by the QB and misses a easy sack...Some say it helps get off the snap too..But I'm not a believer on that one....Soft capping is ideal.
