Well, we'll throw a little "opinion" in tomorrow when the Hawks (#10) take out the Wax Bustin Warriors (#7... and what the hell is that anyway) decisively in the first round.

Looks like the best matchup of the first round will be the thunder against the reign.

I'm looking forward to the Bay Area vs. Colorado Springs game....... I can see an upset happening there.

Not too mention we have the overlal 5th or 6th best offense in the league? i can spot 2-3 teams above us who we beat lol, and 1 that we beat and that didn't even make the playoffs! We may be 17th, but in the end theres only 1 stat that matters, and thats the W column. So all those teams above us in the power rankings that we beat heres to you.

It shows the strengths of the offenses and defenses for an overall ranking in team strength vs's the other 31 team's strengths. It can show where some teams may have value better, or worse than their record indicates. Look at the stat categories, it's a glorified stat ranking based on what I could copy and paste into excel.

Ortiz, sorry, didn't have time to also show East and West individually, count how many East teams are above you, glancing at it quick, looks like Boston's power rank is 8th out of 16 in the east. Again it's not about records but strength at a combined number of offensive and defensive categories. I threw this formula together near the season's start and never said it was perfect, far from it, but I think it's held up pretty good over the year, and highlights teams strenghs. My own was only 11 at one point, even though we trashed people and that's because we were so 1 dimensional, and since we have opened things up, the rankings reflect our better overall game.

If you want an opinion poll, feel free to make one. I didn't make this to argue with people over bias. I spent my time and made this because no-one else did, again, feel free to make your own, no-one made mine the official ranking.

You don't NEED opinion in this type of poll - it's just a statistical measure of where you are. It's flawed, but it also gives some insight. If you want an opinion poll, do one with the owners and/or GM's. That would probably give you a better ranking. but good luck getting everyone to respond. That's why the last person who tried to do one gave up. Not all the owners would respond to poll requests.

Guys - remember these are based off statistical rankings only. If you want an opinion based power rankings then, by all means, make one. Rhuin went through and took the ranking for each team which is very time consuming. Argue it all you want, but he is presenting facts based on the numbers that your team put up over a 16 week period.

Now we can take your argument that you are ranked 17th and beat the Firebirds who are ranked 13th but the Zoners beat you and are ranked 20th and yet lost to the Firebirds! So, its a round robin - who should be ranked higher in this scenario? Should the win of the Zoners who didnt make the playoffs be ahead of you guys who did? After all, using your logic, they beat you.....

Oh come on... There seems to be a concern that some of the posts are out of line. Let's be honest, one of the primary outcomes of posting something like this is always going to be discussion, both humorous and heated. That's a good thing! We all appreciate the work that went into it, and I mean that, but let's not deny the rest of us the fun of disagreeing.

For those that (for some reason) feel honestly insulted by the rankings, post your own and then the rest of us can debate the merits of both. Twice the fun!
