OK, so is the first WR I've built. I want this guy in the Pro's at some stage and am willing to listen to any suggestions that don't sound like complete balls. The main thing I don't like is his VA, I had Underdog as we were outlevelled by 10+ last season and I thought there'd be a reset. Damn you Bort

Currently training Stamina/Confidence. I thought about capping Strength, but I assume it would be better to get Agility to 68 and Catching to 60? Does Strength work on WR's to get good YAC?

If it's YAC you're after, you could go the strength/carrying route to try and break the tackles but I think you would probably have to be looking in excess of 50 strength/50 carrying to be able to do that and I don't know how effective it would be.

Personally I would go the more trusted route with this guy and just tidy up what you've already done.

3rd Cap Agility.
2nd Cap Catching
Get vision and jumping to 55
1st cap confidence

Then think about Route Running/Sticky Hands SAs.

But you've already got way too much carrying... so it may be worth considering going nuts on strength and carrying and trying to plow through corners instead of going around them.

But to make sure you catching the ball, I would say you have to get catching to 60, vision and jumping to 55 and then get carrying and strength to 60.... different but it might work.

I thought carrying helped with your catching, but you hear a lot of different stuff. Thanks for the feedback!

Well, in terms of the formula that makes up your Catching bar on the scouting bars, carry doesn't come into it.

If I remember off the top of my head Receiving is:

0.397 * Catching + 0.175 * Speed + 0.16 * Jumping + 0.15 * Agility + 0.1375 * Vision

Carrying hasn't been cracked yet, but to me carrying means two things... not fumbling and with enough strength it probably contributes to breaking tackles.

Now as most corners don't have great strength or tackling, people have had success with power receivers.

The word last season was that Carrying for WR's helped to secure the catch instead of being a victim of the "knocked loose" outcome. True? who knows...


That formula may be a bit off but like you said, it was off the top of your head. I came up with 61 total but my catching is only 57. My Carrying on the other hand is 60 so maybe that's the formula there?

Your stamina sucks so after 50 plays he is not nearly as good as the first 20

Carry is for after the catch, so yes it will help with the Knocked lose problem which show as drops. So carry helps with drops! which is miss leading because people take that as carry helps with catching, which is wrong!
