OK so we don't have a schedule yet and have no idea what the sim is going to be like. There are also still some big time FA's out there floating about un-signed BUT I'm bored so here goes the first shot at the Western Conference predictions. As a side note my wild ass guess pre-season number 1 and 2 teams last year played in the Conference title game.

16. BSB as of right now they are still here. Who ever swaps with them will most likely get this spot.

15. Dread City Diabolicals-an impresive playoff run got this 4 seed in AAA a spot in the Pro's. They a few issues in their scrim with a USA PRO team last season so I don't know if they are ready to be up here yet.

14. NY-CA Ground Pounders. NY-CA looked decent near the end of last season, but just being decent doesn't cut it up here.

13. Parma Burglars-Season 9 was tough on Parma and I don't know if they can step it up play with the big boys in USA PRO.

12. Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals-Nice looking squad, but not the best team coming up from the minors to the pro's. They should be a tough Opponent, but I don't see them making the playoffs with the level of competition up here.

11. Chicago Hedgehogs-After an Epic Failure to end season 9 the Hogs better step it up if they want to have a shot at the playoffs this year. I think the quality of the league at this point is going to make this impossible.

10. San Diego Demolition-Very Good team with a real shot a causing some problems up here. I just don't see any of the new teams making the playoffs in season 10. They would be my pick to pull it off if things break right for them.

9. Compton Vikings-It strange to say but picking a team to miss the playoffs in this conference is not a slight. Compton would be a playoff team in any other league in GLB, right now I have them on the USA PRO West fence just missing out on a spot.

8. San Diego Lightning. Should be a interesting season for the Lighting. They played great at times last year but with the Roster limit one of their major weapons might be slowed down a bit. Still I think they will still be playing in real games on day 34.

7. Lincoln Navigators-The Navs started slow last year and it cost them a playoff spot. This team figured out the sim by the end of the season and was one of the more dangerous USA PRO teams. I look for them to bounce back in a big way this year.

6. Honolulu Hurricane Warriors-On Defense alone this is a playoff team. Daton hit the recruiting trail a bit late this year and that might come back to bite them in the ass. Still one of the better franchise in the game and playoff Lock.

5. Texas Roughnecks-Great year last season for the new USA PRO squad. By adding a power back to complement the Tick they should be even more dangerous offensively this year. Too move up higher than this their D will have to be improved big time since last year.

4. West Scranton Invaders- WSI has decided by the Grace of Bort to come hang with the big boys. Hope their ready to have to GP for 16 games a year instead of 1 or 2. Still one of the better teams in GLB, but the days of going undefeated and rolling through their league are over.

3. Minnesota Maruaders-Galk and company have added some solid pieces to an already stacked team. A poor season 9 has them focused on a run for the title in season10.

2. Washington Wolfpack-Last years regular season champs are back and better than ever. Pain brought over some high quality dots (Asheme, FairForever and a few others) as well as a new OC. The Pack will once again be fighting for the #1 spot in the West.

1. Monmouth Evil Monkeys-Coming off back to back conference titles the Evil Monkeys have added a few solid pieces to an already talented squad. Monmouth hopes this is the year they finally can get over the hump in the title game.

Nice pre pre writeup. I think things will be very interesting this season. With the roster limits, WSI coming in, spreading of talent, etc this is going to be a dogfight from top to bottom.

Will WW and MEM will remain atop the conference?

How will WSI fair?

Will Lincoln bounce back?

Was Compton a fluke?

LOL

Congratulations! Because of a gutted team, you get the chance to move up to US Pro. Your reward? Moving from a likely top 2 or 3 seed to fighting for relegation.

Enjoy!

Were there any teams significantly impacted by the 55 player cap?

I would guess it hurt the elite special teams squads more than anything. Tough to have an entire squad of guys with Special team VA's and still have the depth you need to compete IMO

SDL

imo

Monkeys had a big roster too iirc but they're a force even without it

EDIT: great write-up CV. although fairforever has been here for a few seasons as was asheme. ash did bring deadpool here though. hazy was our OC last season as well but with the gamblers gone, he is gonna be more focused on one team. copeland imo

Thanks for the nice read Coach, I agree it should be a very interesting season with the new 55 man limit, the best class of second year teams in a long time, and the addition of WSI. I'm just glad we're picked to get a home playoff game in this power conference(of course we're going to do better than a four seed though ). Is it season 10 yet?

Monkeys were loaded with good players though, not specialists. TBH trimming the roster may actually make them better (crazy, I know)

If I remember right didn't WSI have a very big roster as well?

Yeah we were at 65ish(if I remember correctly and I can count lol). We basically just don't have dedicated ST anymore and we lost a few more guys, so we were actually able to add some guys. The offseason is going pretty smoothly actually.

Actually, saying that whatever team takes this slot would likely be a 2-3 seed in AAA is pretty generous

Maybe I don't know enough about the Roughnecks but I would place them below HHW at the very least.

We were picked 14th last season and finished 5th so the lower you want to pick us the better imo

I know it was 'last' season but we did beat Washington, Lincoln, Compton, and Minnesota. Hopefully with the additions we've made we'll be better.

Of course a lot of it depends on the 'sim lottery' as well

The sim is your lifeline, if they down tweek Tick you guys are in some trouble. That guy is bonkers good.

Their O was solid as hell last year and adding a beast power back made them that much more difficult to defend. Plus HHW has a bad habit of starting slow lately, so I am anticipating a few early losses to teams they would beat later in the season. Once again this is without seeing the schedules. Between who you get for your inter-league match up and how tough the early schedule is before you figure out Bort's tweaks it could be a 2 or 3 game swing in a teams record
