Initial roll:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1505030

How would you go about slow building (cap building?) an offensive FB?

Here's what I'm thinking:
3x cap strength while training speed and agility
3x cap agility while training carrying and confidence
2x cap carrying while training vision and confidence
1x cap vision while training confidence and stamina
1x cap confidence while training speed and stamina
3x cap speed

How far off am I and where?

Well, My best tip is to train your first skill to 24 with 90% to 99% trained. This must be done before level 4. Maning do this at level 3 but sometimes you can squeeze one more training while level 3 just before turning level 4. Anyways the point is to save your first 15 SP. With the 10 from leveling to level 3 plus the first 15 that makes 25. 25 + 24 = 49. This gives you a great jump on the next cap.

Then if possible train your second skill past 24 preferably 29+ with 90% to 99% trained. By the time you get to your 3rd skill you should never spend SP on a skill that is not at least trained to 33 with 90% to 99% trained.

Later on you can spend one last training on your skills to gain more points.

Good luck.

By the way the order of your choices sounds good to me.

3x cap agility before strength. You'll end up wanting equipment mostly, if not entirely, in speed; an 80 agility, 100 speed, 75 strength fullback is a better receiver than a 75 agility, 80 strength, 100 speed receiving fullback.

You suck.

Plan looks pretty good though, shull had a good suggestion, but where does catching come into play? You might also re-think vision/carrying order and caps since a receiving FB will be using checks more often.

Good points. I'm revising my "plan" a little.

Traing agility and vision until I can soft cap agility
3 cap agility while training strength and carrying
3 cap strength while training carrying and catching
2 cap carrying while training catching and vision
1 cap vision while training catching and jumping
1 cap catching while training speed and stamina
1 cap confidence while training speed and stamina
3 cap speed while training stamina and jumping

All the minors have such low level gains they are hardly worth reaching early caps. I mean by the time you get your majors to where they need to be the level gains have dropped so low that capping minors for a FB is not much different than capping speed which has 0 gains. My point is if you cap vision with 48 points at level 25ish then move on to your other skills vision will be a wopping 50 by the time you work on speed. You will be slowly working on speed watching your player miss blocks while gaining a 0.10 or less every level on catching, vision and confidence.

Personally I would take the 3 majors as far as you plan then go directly to speed. That way you can start performing sooner. You can train vision and confidence while working on speed. You can then train jumping and catching while capping vision and confidence.

Just a thought.

I've done what Angry is suggesting. Level gains for minors are pretty negligible after 32 and I just go ahead and work on speed after getting agility, strength and carrying to where I want them. Also, as I invest in speed to 68 I train vision/catching/confidence to 40, rather than investing in those at 25, 30 or 35. Then it's basically one season's worth of boosts away from capping the three. So while I lose on level gains, I get to train them for a lot longer than usual.

One more thing, I'm planning on taking a super slow built fullback of mine to 72 agility to start out, rather than stopping at 68. He'll also concentrate on receiving. At least consider taking it to 72. I wish I would have for my other offensive oriented fullbacks.
