I've been reading this forum, and I think all the advice asked for, and given, is far too generic. Anyone that has been around GLB long enough KNOWS different teams use safeties in different ways. ESPECIALLY with the D Play Creator now being used.
So, you shouldn't be asking for advice on here, you should be asking your DC for advice, as your DC should know how he is going to use your Safety, and therefore can give you the BEST advice. However, if you still feel the need to post here, you should offer more information, like how your player is being used. If a SS is playing in a 46 style defense, shit like Zone Specialist is NOT the way to go. If he's double covering all the time, Zone Specialist is NOT the way to go. If he's more of a LB type in the 46 than a coverage type or zone type, then strength is going to be more important than catching.
The key to a good player build is NOT a generic template, but is based on the way he is being used in a defense. And, if you are a free agent, ask yourself how you want your player used, build the player (and ask for advice) based on how you want him to be used, and then FIND A TEAM that will use him that way. Too many FAs look for a good team or good money, and very few actually insure their player FITS the team, or the team FITS the player.
This game is so much more than having a template to build a player, getting the most money, and just ignoring everything else. Many owners and agents don't take this into consideration, then complain about everything, including Bort's changes. Put some time into your player (meaning time THINKING about it), and everything else falls into place.
