Jumping catch is a wasted AEQ. You'll be lucky to have it activate once over your entire career.

Sorry, but how is that non-cookiecutter?

Agility > Speed?

A high Agility:Speed ratio plus decent vision = a very different type of coverage from the cookie-cutter CB build.

When this question was posed to Bort, he said jump catch was a modifier to jumping height and should work fine for defensive players. Of course Bort's idea of "fine" is sometimes quite absurd.

Do jumping catches even show up in the play by play?

Incidentally he's also 6'4"....

Interesting. how are his stats?

Very nice build. Only weakness I see is that most top CBs like 90 speed/80 agility. You have the agility, but you need a bit more speed (or more agility, if you want to be a maverick),

He doesn't get many stats at all. He gets thrown at very little...

He's the #2 CB on an average 9-7 SE Asia AA team and usually plays against offenses that are a few levels higher than him.... The #1 CB on the team is the typical 99 speed, 65 agility guy you always see. That guy gets passed on quite a bit.

You'd think that this guy would get burnt deep with a mere 77 speed, but it's only happened a couple times in his career. The speedster CBs on the team (the #1 and #3 guys) get beat deep much more often for whatever reason.

The time when this guy struggles are on the short crossing routes where the WR runs out about 5 yards and then sprints across the middle. Speedsters struggle on that play too but still...

Otherwise his Agility:Speed ratio means he tends to run the route even better than the WR does....

I like it fallingmercury. I think agility is critical for CBs.

Agility > speed should work pretty well, but i don't think he has enough of either. at least another 5 in each would be interesting.

I think it's very interesting. My gut feeling is that third-capping Vision would be beneficial fro that build, but I can't really reason out why.

Yep, good concept but you need more of each.

More vision.

I used to run agility=speed, but when I got to the Pro level the WRs were just too fast....I had to up the speed a bit or get burnt all too often.

That's the odd thing as the high agility should allow him to keep up with the short quick cut routes, I like the concept though.
