Wow. Don't know what to say. I wasn't expecting us to be able to shut down the New York running game so completely or for the score to be so lopsided. Judging from our pre-season scrimmage with you, and how Savannah got to us in the game previous I was expecting a very tough game. I'm very surprised at how well our guys performed.

Good game Mustangs. You've been a class act all season. Wish you luck in the next.

ouch. fumbles by rex racer that led immediatley to 17 points between the 1st and secodn quarter. that must have sapped the life out of them early

Yeah, We had hit them for turnovers in the scrimmage game to start the season as well. They've got some decent backs, but when they are hit with speed and power, they cough up the ball unfortunately and that's really evident on ST's but I think had their primary HB had more carries he might have coughed one up as well.

Carrying is often an overlooked attribute but its really important. I don;t have the link, but Bort once commented that fumbles take into account the speed of the two players at the collision/tackle. So on ST's when you have guys with strengths well over 60 and speeds well over 80 and decent tackling skills and a lot of weight behind them, you can really test a backs ability to hold onto the ball.

Its part of why Randy Spears was the Western Conference Defensive MVP. He's very fast and strong and has great tackling and played ST's so when he comes flying down the field and hits you, its hard not to cough up the ball due to the amount of impact he can produce.

At this level, HB's should all have carrying over 60. Your return man should likely have at least 50.
