Do you guys think catching only helps get INT's or does it help to get PD's as well?

I agree with eagle, not based on bort saying so, but based on tests run and theory.
UD has done a test with 3 CBs, two of which had high catching and one of which had high jumping, and the ones with high catching got more PDs and INTs. The link is somewhere in this CB forum titled

I have noticed no difference in my CB's performance increasing catching from 10-35. No difference.

Would you notice a difference in a quarterback if you increased his throwing from 10-35?
Would you get an increase in sacks if you increased a defensive lineman speed from 10-35? or agility? or str?
Would you expect to be an interception machine by increasing speed from 10-35 on a corner back?
etc....

I personally value jumping over catching but thats just me. BallHawk VA requirement points in that direction and like I said before I really didnt notice much difference after capping catching; have it close to 52 right now due to natural level gain and dont think I will take it any higher.

I'd say catching is certainly for interceptions, but if you drop an interception, it should be recorded as a pass deflection.

I increased both my catching and jumping this season for my second season CB last season i had no INTs and 31 PDs now i have first capped vison and increased jumping catching to above 25 got 9 Ints second in league and 129 PDs first in league so i think you need a mix of both not overload one

I had 18 Catching in season 7 and 1 interception with minor PD's. i started trainging only catching and am now in the 60's. My ints went from 1 season 7 to 7 season 8 to 15 season 9 and my pass deflections went down from season 8 to season 9. I am not saying that this has a direct correlation because placement on the ball and who you are covering and who is throwing it and all that other jazz also goes into the equation, but from my own projection, it appears as though catching only increases ints and has no effect on pds.

ya, but keep in mind that it might be because of the tactics
