I wish broken tackles was something that GLB showed the league leaders for under the rushing tab because it is key for power backs. Just out of curiosity, of all of you with power backs out there, how many broken tackles did your guy have this season? I'll keep an updated list at the beginning of this thread as I get responses.

I'll start, Vanity Smurf had 253 broken tackles this season.

1. Vanity Smurf - 253
2. Bolt Crennan - 174
3. Branson Faulkner - 156
4. Devin Gunter III - 115

Best back is Branson Faulkner anyway. No contest.

will be Devin Gunter III in a few seasons. No one is going to be able to tackle him with unbelievable strength. You wouldn't guess what his strength is at right now. I want to hear a few serious guesses and I will say who is closest.

I'm assuming it must be at least 90 or you wouldn't be so excited about it.

Better stat is broken tackles per touch... more accurate representation of beast mode

Vanity Smurf: 253btk/393touches = .645 btks per play
Branson Faulkner: 156/355 = .439 btk/play
Bolt Crennan: 174/333= .523 btk/play
Devin Gunter III: 115/231 = .498 btk/play

and your Winner?

A Guido of course

Bump N Grind: 171/218: .784 btk/play

Yes I did this just to buzzkill you all.

Branson's still the winner considering he's twice as fast as vanity and still gets power back like broken tackles.
Beast mode.

No offense to anyone involved, but my back is ridiculous. lol

Not a bad point, but I don't totally agree. With a larger workload Bump N Grind would probably not keep up the same ratio because he'd lose stamina just like everyone else and would break less tackles. Impressive ratio nonetheless though.

How very scientific of you.

"Sure, your guy has almost 100 more broken tackles but my guy is still the best because he's my guy."

No offense to anyone involved, but I wouldn't trade either Vanity Smurf or "Fire" Bradshaw for your "ridiculous" back. If you're looking for a one-back show and just trying to put up monster individual stats he's great, but to have a great team you need to have two great backs IMO...one a power back and one a speed/agility back.

Postal will roll tomorrow.

BFG and I used the ratio to compare our backs so that's what gave me the idea. Of course a two-back system helps.

We have two backs. One combo, one elusive. Branson gets 41 plays a game on average. Vanity gets 39.8. So that argument is moot. Furthermore, what does team composition (the fact that you have elusive/power) have to do with each individual back? If you replaced either of your backs with mine, your team would be better for it.

How do you consider broken tackles to be the appropriate barometer when you're outdone in YPC, touchdowns, and yards? Sure, it has some weight but my point is... if my combo back gets slightly less broken tackles but gets around people far easier without having to break their tackle, how is yours better? Doesn't add up.
