Some great games this week
Back to back
Mountain Men at Marauders for home field during there first round playoff match up. Will also be interesting to see how these teams adjust playing each other two weeks in a row. The two teams are pretty evenly matched with a very slight advantage to Singapore. The Marauders seem to have been picking up steam and thrashed ESL 2 weeks ago. There are whispers in Singapore of a possible long over due Super Wok appearance...
The Mountain Men stormed into the league and beat up on an ESL team that only has lost to these 2 teams. Cambodia has had a few bumps in the 2nd half, but has shown that they belong in this league and are a fine addition as well. This 2 game span will truly define there season. Reputation has ESL vs Singapore in the second round atm. The question is, do the Mountain Men still have that chip on there shoulder that was there when they entered the league? Or is a 1st round playoff appearance enough for them?
And I know at least one of these teams has one thought in the back of there head, was ESL just fucking with us again?
Battle for 2nd place
Bandar at Pa Dong to decide who is 2nd place and who is 3rd in the conference. 3rd place will play the Leathernecks, unless the Clams can somehow pull an upset AND the Buddhist beat the Bulldogs. My prediction is Leathernecks at Dragons in the first round.
Pick your poison: ESL or Bandar/Pa Dong
Buddhists(9-6) vs Bulldogs(8-7). The Buddhist's still have an outside chance at the 6th spot, and have to be looking at staying on that side of the bracket come playoff time. This means they have to win this game. They have beaten both Pa Dong and Bandar, while they have lost to ESL, the Marauders and Mountain Men. I believe they are going to do everything they can and edge the Bulldogs in a close one claiming the 7th spot and a match up with Bandar in the first round.
The Bulldogs could win this game though as I believe these two teams are pretty evenly matched, with the edge on paper actually going to the Bulldogs. If the Bulldogs do win this game, I believe they clinch the 7th seed. In addition, if the Northern Lights beat the Manila Hitmen, the Lights would then be in the playoffs and the Buddhist out. If they lose, the Bulldogs draw ESL in the first round....a team they have never beaten at any level
Against All Odds
Manila Hitmen(6-9) vs Anchorage Northern Lights(8-7) At the begining of the season, if you had told me the Hitmen could finish with 10 losses, I'd call you crazy. But it is looking like it is about to happen. Manila is one of the most talented teams and when LUN tries, one of the toughest to beat. I can only hope he returns next season as I have to assume he hasn't been on much this year. The league is a better place with the Hitmen at 100% imo
The Northern Lights on the other hand are holding out hope, somehow at a playoff game. They are going into a winnable situation, and can only focus on winning at this time. I believe they will get the win, but will they be cheering or cursing the Bulldogs after the week is over? Gotta admit, I'm pulling for the Lights to sneak in
Worst game of the week
ESL vs Assassins = how many points can we score? Any non CPU team would have at least given a chance at an upset and would have made week 16 even more exciting. BS gutted teams fucking up snaps. Maybe we can steal some gold trophies at least
Good luck to all the teams, going to be a fun to week to watch!
