Follow this thread, and help build the momentum. If anyone tried getting onto GLB about seven hours ago, they will have seen how bogged down the servers got with the reroll scripts. Here is an a possible cure to the cookie-cutter builds and 1500 plus rerollers.

They spent time rerolling, and these people get to choose how to make their stats work?" I just don't think that it would be fair to they who spent time rolling and rolling like myself.

Wow. So you would want to stop an epic idea because you are upset that someone MIGHT get a better or as good of a build as you got without spending hours rolling? There are already people who do that (and they make up the majority of bandwidth users) using rerolling scripts or programs.

And I'm not offering anything through my suggestion that you couldn't get already... and there will still be some small random factors so that there aren't cookie cutter builds, which there are currently via the reroller.

They could just put a the Script into the Rolling page, where you can set limits just like the script, but instead of rolling forever to land withing the targets, it constrains the rolls with the targets, so every roll lands within them. Just restict the limits to reasonable levels, like you can't set the STR min on a C higher than 22 or 24. You could still roll a 28, but it wouldn't be automatic.

People would probably still script it, but chances are it wouldn't take nearly as many rolls to satisfy the builder.

+1 because rolling begins to suck after 2-3 players

No doubt, I rolled seven guys today and it tool me over 5 hours. If they don't fix this shit, it'll push me away from the game. I wish it were more like building a custom player on Madden or something like that. You get the points and can put them wherever you want.

I spend 5 minutes each time I do a player, are they perfect players? Probably not, but you can make them into perfect players. Just train right and put the points where they suppose to go. No need to take even an hour rolling one player. I also ask the same from players joining my team, just try to get 8s in kicking and punting, eventually you'll need the other sporadic points so it works itself out after a while. Most of the players I make and loan to teams seem to be at the top in tackles or sacks so I really see no need to spend hours doing something that takes 5 minutes.

I do tend to roll until they are in the right area and then work from there.

Agreed - not necessary to take forever. A good builder with an imperfect roll can overcome a bad builder with a perfect roll in no time.

This is the first year that I've used the rolling script because I wasn't going to be able to dedicate the time needed to roll 30+ players. I rolled MUCH better players this year than I ever have before, giving my players an unfair advantage over those who don't have the time, the know-how, or the persistance to roll those 28 strength Cs.

My idea on build types would level the playing field and allow good builders to determine success, not persistance and rolling scripts.
