55 players just isn't enough for us... anyone coming up with ideas on how to conserve players? My team rarely punts, so I'm thinking of just using my kicker to punt on the odd time that we do.

Do you need a rollout QB or is the penalty for using a speed/agility HB at QB too great?

Can't have a dedicated special teams group = tired defense or offense. How to cope?

We all now have the same problem. Wonder howmany players will be pumping stamina, I was so against that the past 3 seasons. Hopefully Bort decreses the amount of energy used on special teams. I doubt it though.

lol we cope already its not that bad, everybody is tired you guys just lost an edge that we've been fighting, sure we could of done what you did, but we didnt have the people (dont fault you for that we would of if we could of) but it's not bad you dont have to pump stamina I have all my players at starting stamina because I intend to retire them, thats not enough I know but I was testing it out this season and it hasnt hurt any of my players NONE of them have touched 10 energy except in 1 game, ironically against Dharma lol.

Even playing field for roster depth = greater strategy and planning opportunities.

The rosters may be shallower, but the game will be alot deeper for it. Do you pump stamina? Carry more HBs or CBs? Use a kicker to punt and kick? Scratch the running QB? Go short on linemen?

All questions that teams will answer in different ways to interesting and varied results.

QB 2
HB 2
FB 2
TE 1 (Can use a 2nd FB at TE)
WR 4
C 2
LT 2
LG 2
RT 2
RG 2
K/P 1 Do both

Offense 21

DL 4
DE 4
MLB 2
OLB 4
SS/FS 3 backup for both S positions
CB 4

Defense 21 using a 43 defense btw

Thats basically bare bones at 42 so having 55 should be no biggie. Adjust then to what you want as far as OC and DC wants/needs and STs.

Someone put it quite well.. if you MUST have special teams here is your option

11 starters and 11 backups on O

11 starters and 11 backups on D

11 Special teams guys = 55 so ONE person will have to play double duty on special teams or scratch the punter since you need 12 for special teams (thats why I think 56 would be a little more practical number)

If you think that 55 is too little, welcome to the wonderful world of gameplanning.

We had 48 this year with a nearly dedicated Special teams. It's certainly able to be done.

Well, I don't need that many more... it was just nice to have dedicated special teams for offense and defense. Special teams chewed through stamina so fast that I liked having a set squad to take care of it for me.

I was actually hoping to add a couple of positions this season... not for depth, but because I wanted to try a couple of specialties out. I'm only using one FB this season, and I wanted to try a 2 FB system instead, but that idea might need to be cut.

2 FB's get about 36 ppg with an active offense, helps quite a bit good investment but your FB's wont like it .

My team has 45 players this season, and we're 14-2. 55 is plenty and now I don't have to worry about being overwhelmed by those of you with 70 players on your team, which is ridiculous.

I went with the roster minimum and only 39 play. 15-0, so it worked out just fine for me.

Helps if you make half of the players on your team. :-)

I suppose this will cut down on my investment, I'm just going to have to be smarter.

We run Singleback, Strong I, Weak I, and I form mostly, so there is lots of room to get the FB on the field. If not, there is always Special Teams blocking.

I only used a 50 man roster and am only using a 48 next season. Don't see a problem. The only teams that will suffer were the ones that made 60 C's for special teams and had 8 HBs. Both are pointless. My team only gave up 1 special teams score the entire season (against Short Bus, damn you LordEvil ) and we played over 35 games.
