The final four playoff spots in both conferences are quite far from each other in terms of why they are interesting scenarios.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
in my opinion the teams that are definitely going to be in the playoffs representing the eastern conference are Green Bay, Las Vegas and Cincinnati. The rest of the spots are pretty much up for grabs. The final home playoff spot will be decided by a couple of important games for these 8 teams:
Alpine golfers (9-3) 4th place

With a big win over official this week alpine vaulted themselves into the 4th place and are the frontrunners for the last home playooff spot in the east. ocho cinco was the MVP of this game, with two huge touchdown catches (both going from 80 yards). This guy demands double coverage!

The red dots have been getting torn apart since bringing in an another coordinator (
), and need a victory here to get back into contention. However with games against Alpine, Las Vegas, Indianapolis and The richey royals left on the schedule i dont see them making it barring a miracle turnaround, but here in usa pro anything is possible.
The shockers just laid them out, however, with a 76-9 bitchslap, and their confidence is at an all time low. their remaining games are tough, and i predict they dont cut it and end up out of the playoffs.

This team is going to be dangerous, and will have more games in which to prove they belong in the playoffs. With games against the bullets, official, the red dots and cincinnati left over, if they make the playoffs they will of deserved it. I really like this team and i think they will surprise some people down the stretch.

wow these guys like to keep it close! six of their games (barring a destruction of kalamazoo) have been decided by less than a touchdown, and in those contests they are 2-4. however, they have been their ONLY losses so far! they are so hard to predict week to week, assuming the role of the inconsistent ball club, which does'nt bode well in the playoffs.

i see them going 1-3, leaving them at 9-7 and really on the needles edge. With a great group of agents on the team i hope they make the playoffs, but my mind tells me they are on the inside looking in come day 32.

currently holding the 8th spot in the east, this team is an enigma. their statistics are skewed due to playing two gutted teams in CCCC and Kalamazoo, but they beat the gamblers in week 4! i dont see them beating the gamblers in the playoffs now, but if they intend on getting to that game in any way, they will have to fight tooth and claw to get there. their remaining games are against:

Washington 5/22/09
Official 5/24/09
OTR red dots 5/26/09
and their fate is in their hands. they beat las vegas so they have the talent. their games will be an interesting thing to watch in the run to the playoffs, and could decide the fate of the teams they play to get there.
Northwest Arkansas Naturals (7-5) 9th place

This team was on fire to start the season, but have since then lost 4 of their last 5 games, all against teams jostling for position in the non-home field advantage playoff spots. their loss to the gurupies this week plummeted them down to 9th place in the rankings and if the playoffs started today they wouldnt be in. Mind you even if they were in as the 8th seed they wouldnt have it right now.
they have to right the ship, and they need to beat the royals this week to get in. this is their (and the royals most important game this season). They will lose to green bay and beat CCCC, but im not so sure about carolina. the hammer are a wildly inconsistent team and can turn it on at any moment. they will have chances to play spoiler down the stretch.
With big arm magee and the best passing team in the league, they will never be out of a game though.
Washington Bullets (6-6) 10th place

These guys are going to determine the shape of the playoff spots in the east. all their remaining games are against playoff teams above them in the rankings. with wins over the red dots and the golfers already in the bag, this team proved it has the firepower to stand up with the best of the best, and their remaining schedule is brutal. they can leapfrog the other teams and get that last playoff spot, and i see the game against the royals as a very important game for them if they want to make it.
