ok guys im back again to fill people in on the most intriguing matchups in USA pro this week.
last weeks games gave us some surprising wins, and this week will most definitely be no different.
The vikings pulled off an excellent win against chicago, who have cooled as of late since their explosive start to the season. ompton this week goes up against the juggernaut that is MEM. this is my game of the week. Compton can take the top spot in the western conference with a win against MEM, and if they do take it i dont see them losing another game on their schedule, therefore being the western conference top seed. Last week i doubted their ability to stop the pass and compton responded with a 3 interception performance against the 2nd best passer in the league tom koziol.
This game means a lot to both teams, and although i think compton has a chance in this game with an oppotunistic defense, i cant see them stopping MEM this week. MEM should win this game by a score.
Chicago continue their spiral out of the top seeded teams with another lackluster performance by their QB, who has throw 5 INTs in the last two games. They play San diego this week in another game that has a lot of meaning in the playoff race.
San diego have been on a roll of their own the past few games, and if their kicker hadnt gotten stage fright in honolulu the lightning would be in second place in the rankings right now. with a 93-27 victory over underacheiving Parma they increase their win streak to 5 games. They are a force to be reckoned with in any game, but i see the next two games being make or break for these guys.
If san diego can force koziol into more mistakes in this game i see san diego winning, setting up another explosive matchup with MEM the following week. MEM and San diego have no love for each other, and the exchanges between MEMs star quarterback Drago Puncher and San diego's Defensive coordinator have added fuel to an increasingly hot fire.
In the eastern conference, Las Vegas handled Northwest Arkansas pretty well and are gaining ground on Green Bay in the east.
The bullets are a team who are making a late season surge for a playoff spot, and are breathing down the naturals necks. Washington travel to Las Vegas this week to take on a very strong Gamblers squad. They better bring their A game if they are looking to win. The gamblers play stout defense (no.1 in the rankings!) and run it down your throats. In a season of passing prowess and special teams success, the gamblers provide a refreshing respite and are playing power football, with a 57+ turnover ratio, this team is going to be scary for anyone in the playoffs.
Official football guys have gotten back to winning ways after a front office change over earlier in the season and currently stand in 6th place in the east. they travel to alpine this week to play a damn good golfers team, who have the same record, and are in 4th place. look for a reversal of position in this game as i see official take control in the run game and stop the golfers potent passing game.
another game to watch is the indianapolis gurupies vs the naturals. the naturals Strength of Schedule to close out the season is brutal but i see them pulling off a nice win here if big arm can fire them to victory and put them back in the running in the east.
Rising teams:
SDL ( big win over struggling parma - did what they had to do, will challenge MEM next week)
COmpton (continuing to win big games)
Gurupies (love this team, still looking for their best play)
Falling teams:
Chicago (continue to fall down the rankings in the west, can they turn it around??
Parma (i know they arent going to make the playoffs this season, but they need to show they can still ball, they have the pieces where is the gusto??)
My top 5 teams:
1.Las Vegas
2.Green Bay
3.Monmouth
4.Minnesota
5.Cincinnati
