I want to sub in HB2 and FB2 on a specific play, but ot the entire formation every time it gets called. S I can just use the drop down menu for that *particular* play output right? Without selecting those for the formation every time it gets called?

Yes, as long as you don't use the drop down anywhere else, the output will sub in the custom slots just for those plays.
