As you can see, I was in perfect formation to stop the scrambling QB, but my CB3 set to QB Spy seemed to run away from the ball, toward the middle of the field:

Have I just learned those guys need to be set to blitz and that QB spy is really only meant to be used by linebackers?

Nah, the question mark means I was assuming. I guess it could also be vision, as both of those players have very little.

Yeah...putting someone on the outside edge to QB Spy isn't that good of an idea...just like setting CB2 to cover WR1 with no move isn't a good idea. Spy is basically just man coverage on the QB.

I've used the CB2 w/o move to cover the WR1. I only do this of course when the CB1 is already covering the WR1. But doing the CB2 w/o move to cover the WR1 is kinda like a zone towards the WR if that makes since. Kind of like when a FS is in a deep zone towards 1 side of the field.
