Your cb is failing a vision check which is causing him to continue on the path the wr was running. The amount he goes off course is a combination of his speed and the number of ticks of the fake. For example, if he runs 4 yards per tick and the fake lasts two ticks, he will run 8 yards off course. This means the faster you are, the worse you are faked if you fail the vision check. Bort and co. are looking into the problem to try and change the way a fake affects the cb, so that this doesn't happen. Instead we might see the cb fall down or stutter instead of running 8 yards off course.
EDIT: I forgot to say this. Even if a change is made, it will probably only be a cosmetic change. Your cb is still failing a vision check, it will just look different when he does. The important thing is that the WR will still probably get the td. If you want to prevent that you need to get your vision and SV up.
