OK so Speed Mason is back and ready to get prodded and poked by his peers before he gets prodded and poked and tested by the off season scouts. (my team is folding after this season because... we're losing)

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=652501

I'm leveling twice this season, and boosting 3 times at the start of next season. This will leave me with 25 SP. And his level 48 equipment upgrade.

This is how i was leaning.

Training
I'm training my confidence up, and going to do so for a while until mid 30s atleast

I was thinking about EITHER
Option 1.) putting it all into strength and 2nd capping it to 60. And then getting tackling to about 52. (if i did my math right)

Option 2.) Or evenly spread out between strength and tackling. This is the more safe option i'm sure.

Equipment.
I was going to dump it all into agility ... getting me to about 80 agility (still have a AEQ that needs to be upgraded once before level 48, and once after level 48. I should have enough Bonus Tokens by then according to my math)... with mid 90 speed, i don't feel a SS needs that much more speed... just more agility to help his acceleration to the ball.

Now this is what i think... i'm hoping to get a good amount of

A.) Praising for how amazing my build is

B.) Flaming for how much people hate my build

C.) Advice

I'm open to ALL types of advise. Not just the usual. I'm open to all ideas.

perfect example why vision sucks compared to str for S.S.'s. you got on board the vision train and rode it till you wasted away into nothing. Don't you wish you could get those points back?

same league.

you need more change direction, str, and confidence. like big time.

definitely get change direction up. It's a shame there isn't an intense training option with catching+confidence. Makes sense. I'd go for strength over tackling with how well sure tackler is working right now. You can still get other benefits from strength like better PDs and more chance to force fumbles. Closing speed has been working nice for my guy lately on attacking those hb screens and sweeps. You can see it kick in sometimes (a friend on a different team jacked it to 8 just to try it out and sometimes it was obvious it was working).

no. i actually am not sure. you obviously don't get my build dude. He's a fast coverage safety. We played your team and your SS looked like a near sited fat man on a unicycle. He hits people hard, but he's slow going, and slow to react to the play. My SS doesn't have that much less tackles than your guy. Heck he'd have more if he didn't miss alot of tackles. (a point that hurts my guy a bit.. but missed tackles SHOULD lessen after i up his tackling/ strength) Mason has alot less PDs cause in my opinion the QB doesn't throw at him... and later in the game passing becomes pointless when the teams are leading by quite a bit this season.

But thanks for your opinion Underdog congrats on your win against us...

And thanks Chronoaug, i was planning on getting Change Direction up as well. Wasn't sure when exactly. Thanks for your opinion as well

You have 18 missed tackles this season. WAAAYYYY too much at any level to be honest. It's a shame you don't have any more VAs because you could really benefit from putting 10 in sure tackler as it has been really solid this season. If you happen to have extra VAs leftover from the big heart reset or something i'd do that. If you can add to sure tackler, i'd boost change direction up first and train confidence (and catching since it's low but no intense combo on that yet). However, with all those missed tackles, you might want to get change direction up 2 points and spend the rest in strength/tackling to stop the bleeding. I've yet to miss at tackle or get juked (where your dot shrinks and you can't even get to the guy to tackle him) this season in usapro.

Also, learn how to coordinate or something as your team is looking terrible right now. Missed tackles aren't helping but the offense is atrocious.

I agree and this can and should be fixed with more strength and tackling.

However, I must defend the position.

Before season 8, strength and tackling weren't very important for Strong Safeties so a lot of safties had minimal amounts of these attributes and built up others. Fortunately I started beefing up my SS in season 7. Strength now over 60 and tackling over 50, with more improvement coming. While I improved these skills significantly, I am seeing the worst ratio of tackles to missed tackles in my career, including what I thought was a brutal first season.

The amount of missed tackle might be high, but most of those missed tackles were probably inconsequential. There were a few that mattered, but most involved getting a hand on the ball carrier and someone else making the tackle. Missed tackles seem to be up for the position. It encourages us to make Strong Safties strong, but I don't think this is necessarily a fair statistic to look at on the surface.

Still way too many missed tackles, even for an SS. If you're missing even half of that only 6 games into the season, shit's not right.

what tackling setting do you play on?

I have missed 10 but he plays on power tackling. we both have the same tackling (49) but my S.S. has a lot more str. Could it be str helps not to miss tackles? who would have thought?

I switched to medium style tackling. i've heard that it might actually help. I put 2 points into strength. saving the 1 point until next level up.

So right now i'm thinking of getting strength to 60 by the start of next season. Stay on balanced or something.

Then i don't know what to do.

I'm actually thinking about just pumping speed for the rest of his career after that.

getting my farting up to 45

Wrap-up only sucks if you have the strength/tackling to do otherwise and you still play on it out of fear that you'll miss a couple of tackles.

If you're a coverage guy not built to force fumbles, wrap-up is a good way to save points you otherwise would have spent in strength/tackling. It just depends on your build.
