Bort is floating some very anti-low leauge ideas in the forum. Among these are a penalty to BBB players who are of decent level in the form of lower morale, and a level cap that would prevent ANY of us from signing people higher than level ten to a BBB contract.

Please get in there and let them know how much this would screw up your teams. He doesent HAVE players at low levels, so he doesent seem to understand that most of the players in these leauges are already higher than the penalizable levels.

Get out there and add to these threads or forever be pittered on.

I don't like the morale punishment because it punishes teams that stay together and develop, but I have no problem with the signing level limit. I would cap it at level 12 or so.

so what happens to the current level 10+ players we have then?

bullshit. We built our entire team from scratch and only signed 2-3 free agents. It took many long hours getting our rotation just right so that all of our players get equal playing time and level as fast as possible, and there are several teams in BBB#2 with equal rosters. Right now we only have a handful of players that are under lvl 12 and a penalty for good building would be an insult, considering it was their extension of the boosting deadline that made it possible.

The initial post is a pretty strong misrepresentation of what Bort was actually proposing. He is proposing a level cap for new signings and trades based on the average player level currently in a league (with a little fudge room, naturally). I allows players already signed to stay where they are, and to sign extensions, whatever their level may be. Level 10 was used simply as an example and not as a definite number. I didn't see anything about the morale part, but it may have been a separate post I missed or just not have been there, I can't say. It isn't anti-low league, it's to create more parity and better competition in the low league teams.

Edit: Also, the cap would be determined separately for each league, so if BBB#1 had an average level of 12 and BBB#2 had an average level of 14, their caps would be different.

Someone please post a link to the actual discussion or some quotes because some of us don't have the time to sift through the sea of garbage posts in the main forum, and I didn't see it on the official announcements thread.

We can stop this, they are just FLOATING these ideas.

I dont see why we cant fix all of these problems with accellerated promotion/relegation.

THE HELL IT IS! Go read it again. Morale is mentioned in these threads as a penalty over and over, and as Borts favored method of doint it. DONT accuse me of misrepresentation until you read these.

Fine, I didn't see the second thread, so the morale part is correct, but the rest of your initial post is still a misrepresentation of the actual proposed change.

And I think I actually read the whole posts, and Im certain you didnt, so please dont tell me im misrepresenting things you think you understand. (but it appears you are a bears fan, so I dont expect you to actually know how to read ) And its not just a signing limit, but a trading limit.

They get to stay forever, but they would/could/might have a morale hit, effectively making them LESS than level 10.

They aren't anti-BBB ideas, and I said they affect signing and trades in my initial post, but it seems like all you are paying attention to in these threads are the extreme case scenarios that people are coming up with, and not what Bort is actually saying. What he is floating about is nowhere near as extreme as you are implying, nor is it that detrimental. You're blowing the whole thing out of proportion and attempting to start a panic for no good reason.

Any penalty to my team for this will be unacceptable, since we built 98% of our roster from scratch in the offseason. We were all able to get our players as high as they are buy using our own real money and taking advantage of the extended boost deadline that the devs allowed. Therefore I don't care what type of penalty they are proposing, I am firmly against it.

That level cap wouldn't penalize your team, though, because it won't affect players already signed to your team. For that matter, it isn't even certain that the morale option would affect your team, because the caps for level/morale would be determined based on the average player level in your league. That isn't all of BBB, but each BBB league individually. I don't personally agree with the morale option being floated, but the level cap would be an excellent idea if instituted in the manner Bort proposed it.
