Tana River, Alaska (AP): This has to be one of the biggest stories in the Western Conference of BBB #12. Chicago Inferno is on a five game losing streak. If something isn't done soon, they will lose all chance of making the post season. They have a tough game today when the Timpanogos Thunder come to town. Timpanogos is has started their own streak. They have won two in a row against two possible playoff teams.

It is hard to see exactly when things started to go against the Inferno. After dropping the opening game of the season to the tough Honolulu Beach Boys, they rebounded quickly. A key acquisition of running back Tuffy Beastwich helped spark some early success. Tuffy leads the Western Conference with 19 touchdowns and is third in yards gained.

After Inferno's early four game win streak, it looked like they were playoff bound. Then the Bugeaters came to town. Many fans believe this game is the turning point. There have been some rumors of strife amongst the players in the locker room. The team nor players have been contacted to support or deny these rumors. The shutout rose many questions, though the Inferno bounced back again to beat the ever elusive SLUGs from Eugene. The Ewoks came to town and started their current losing streak. During this streak, the defense has been giving up an average of 23 points per game. This is a far cry from the 7.5 points given up during their four game win streak.

Many fans are anxious for a win. Looking at the playoff race, a win today could help secure a spot for the Inferno. If they lose, they must win their remainder games. It is a tough task. Times like these show what character the team is made of.

Tana River, Alaska (AP): The pressure of the playoffs can have strange affects on teams. Some will thrive while others will crack. Today we look at two teams facing this pressure. If the playoffs started today Eugene and Dallas would both be in. Unfortunately for them, there are three more games. Neither team has an easy schedule remaining. Next weeks game throws in a another twist as the two teams square off on the field.

Eugene currently holds the 7th seed in the Western Conference. They have some impressive wins and let downs in the season. With a record of 7-5-1, it is believed they need one more win to secure a playoff birth. This will be a true test of their team. Today they face the 3rd seed in Honolulu. Last week the Beach Boys were outmatched. This week they are hoping to take some of their anger out on the SLUGs when they come visiting. The final game of the season pits Eugene against the Eastern Conference 3rd seed team. Eugene still has a shot at either of these games, as they are the only team to upset the Bugeaters this year. They used a 14 point 4th quarter to pull off the come from behind upset. The consensus is Dallas game is their best chance to find a win.

Dallas is the 8th seed in the Western Conference and working to secure a playoff birth. Their season has been a roller coaster ride. They have not put together a win streak longer than two games, yet they have not lost more than two games in a row. They arguably have the toughest remaining schedule. Todays game, the Western Conference leading Bugeaters come to town. Dallas hopes the Bugeaters have a letdown after their big win last week. Most predictions around the football ranks don't see that happening. Dallas received the worse draw for their final game of the season. They most travel to Tecmo to face the Eastern Conference number one seed. The light is starting to dim. Even and 8-8 record does not guarantee a playoff birth. They would need to beat Eugene to get their eighth win.

The Dallas and Eugene game should be a good on. Both teams are pretty evenly matched in both record and talent. Dallas has thrown for more yards throughout the season, but also double the SLUGs interceptions. Dallas also gives up the most yards from any of the teams in the West. Eugene has a stingy pass defense, ranked 3rd in the conference. Eugene instead relies more on the run, while Dallas ranks 5th in yards given up. This could turn out to be a must win game for both teams. Even if Dallas wins it, there is no guarantee of a playoff birth. The next three weeks will be an indication for either of these teams thriving or folding under the pressure.

nah, you have the Slugs next game... it will be a fight to see who wants to lose it more. Falling on a long weekend I know we are pretty screwed for player input so it will be an ugly game.... but beware the 50+ FG kicker! Only damn good thing out of the last game <sigh>
