Looking for some advice on where to go from here with VA's. I have Bruiser and Scat Back maxed and have been seeing good results so far this season. I really have no idea where I spend my VA's now though.

I'm looking Red Zone Freak, Goal Line Back, Mr. Reliable, Outside Blocker, Downfield Blocker, Tenacious??, and YAC attack.... so yes, I really have no idea.

I'm playing at 90+ str, 60+ speed, 50+ carrying.

I would steer away from the VAs that are extremely situational (such as goal line back and tenacious). If you're an offensive FB, why bother taking the blocking VAs? Personally, I think YAC Attack (to complement scat back), Short yd Monster (there's a lot more TFLs this season) or maybe even clutch might be better choices.

I agree, YAC attack would be a great compliment to scat back. Short yardage monster is a must (IMO) just for the fact that you get great return on your investment. Just 5 VAs in SYM will get you 20% increase to your tackle breaking score in the backfield.

I like goal line back as well. 2%/level increase to strength, agility and carrying is very nice. Especially since those should already be a decent levels on a rushing FB. You don't have to get it to 15 to be effective. This is a solid VA with just 5-10 points in it. I guess it depends on how many GL carries you get though.

If you play special teams or look to suffer from low stamina, then a few points in Second Wind would be good.

I definitely would NOT arm any power runner w/ Tenacious. You will not encounter many players on wrap-up when you run through the middle of the defense.

I'm not a fan of Red Zone Freak either, 5% to your base ratings is not really that much. So a chance to get that increase just isn't worth it, IMO. I guess this would be OK to stack on top of other VAs, but not as a primary one.

Clutch could be decent if you are on the field for most 3rd down plays.

Goal Line Back looks so tempting because of the great bonuses but when you take a second look at it, its not that good.

1st - its limited use. Only rushing plays inside the 5 don't happen THAT often compaired to other VA's that trigger more like Scatback and SYM.
2nd - Its not that hard to score from the 5 anyway. I have watched countless RB's with elusive, power, good and bad builds all score from the <5 yard line
3rd - Short yardage monster - if you're going to get tackled inside the 5 and not fall forward into the endzone, its probably going to be a hit in the backfield so why not break that tackle, to score while using a skill you can use the rest of the game.

I first saw that VA and thought to go straight for it as a FB, but its really not that usefull when there are other options outhere.

Bruiser - Maxed
SYM - Maxed
YAC attack - better for mine since he is backup TE
Scat back - if thrown to at all as a back
Clutch - if you are never thrown to maybe
Big Heart - so you can HULK OUT when behind

That's why I say to not max it out. Defenses are starting to hit the goal line stand VA and it may become harder to score down the road.

I've put 4 VA's into YAC attack so far, not sure how far I'll go with that.

Even though I am a running FB, in my career, I have 436 pancakes compared to 14 TFL's. This season, when there are supposedly "more" TFL I've had 3 TFL compared to 41 pancakes. I can't see how anyone would recommend SYM.

Steady Grip is intriguing, but 15 VA's to gain 4 points of carrying? Workout Warrior would actually give me equal return on investment. (If you don't believe me, assume a 100 strength, 60 carrying build and do the math).

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but play in a real league and you'd see why SYM is important. Level 50 in BBB? Against a real defense (players and coordinators), you'll be lucky to get half your current YPC. I get hit in the backfield enough to make SYM valuable and I play on a pretty dominant team.

Here's some examples just from today's sim...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475071&pbp_id=12945614 (hit in the backfield on a 4th down, didn't convert, but SYM gave a me a second chance)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475071&pbp_id=12946941 (SS run blitzes and hits me just before the LoS, lead to a decent gain)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475071&pbp_id=12951510 (NT hits me at LoS, pick up 3 anyways)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475071&pbp_id=12950508 (LB hits me well in the backfield, SYM didn't save me)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475071&pbp_id=12944977 (on the fringe, could have been behind/at the LoS)

Bottom line, SYM has it's value... if you played against better competition, you'd see how valuable it can be.
