No one is really posting at all here so I going to try to bring some life into the forum, by doing some power rankings. Though West won't be included, too much work doing research out of conference. Find your own guy for your side.
And so, straight into it.
1. Salem Cyber Hawks (3-0) - Salem has come out strong as the power house here in the east. Putting up 365 points to their opponents 20 thus far this season. And doing so while generally out leveled. Their rushing attack ranks second in the conference, averaging 400+ yards per game. Their ST has put up 20 TDs (LOL), while their defense leads the conference in tackles, and is tied for 1st in sacks. These guys are dangerous.
2. New York Empire (3-0) - The Empire so far has been following Salem's stats almost exactly. Putting up 363 points to their opponents 20 thus far. Their rushing attack is 1st in the conference averaging 600+ yards per game. Their ST putting up 5 TDs, while their defense is 4th in the conference in tackles, but has the least tackles missed and their sacks ties Salem for 1st in the conference. The one knock against the Empire thus far is their trouncing of Baton (a CPU team). Making Salem the clear #1 thus far as they've played all legit competition thus far.
3. Vatican City Paranoid Agnostic (3-0) - Vatican City is probably the most tried team thus far with their matches against the X-Men and Tanks. They run a fairly balanced offensive scheme, but have emerged as one of the better passing offenses. They also run one of the most lockdown rush defenses in the conference. The only thing that concerns me is their ability to defend the pass and the strength of their O-line both of which seem to be under performing.
4. Chicago Grizzlies (3-0) - Chicago seems the weakest of the undefeated teams. Their offense hasn't yet shown to be anything special, and while their defense is holding up, it's hard to say whether that will be enough for them moving forwards. We'll see where they actually stand in 2 weeks when they play against the Vatican.
5. Indianapolis X-Men (2-1) - The X-men started out very strong with 2 nice victories over Louisiana and Vancouver, but then lost terribly to the Vatican. The X-men have one of the most effective passing games in the league, while also putting up nice numbers on the ground. However, the Vatican had no problem throwing or running the ball against Indianapolis and they'll need to address their defense if they plan to progress strongly.
6. Dogs of War (2-1) - The weakest of the winning teams thus far it appears. Their offense goes to the air with some frequency but suffers from bad percentages, and when they do complete are usually for small gains. Their rushing attack however seems pretty effective thus far, but it's their defense where they lack. Missing more tackles than almost any other team in the conference, and having what appears to be a lackluster secondary.
Everybody else has losing records and thus for the moment, do not matter. I'll do more at intervals throughout the season, the length in between which depending on the response I get. Discuss.
