-West Wales pulls off the upset over the Dream Boats. Amazing!

-The Bluebirds and Mercenaries definitely proved me wrong! *eats words*
-Paris Musketeers don't seem to be enjoying the success they thought they would in their return to WEPL.. We'll see how the season ends up.
-Normandy, on the other hand, so far is breezing through.

Last Week- 4-4
Overall- 14-10
Belfast Commandos (2-0) at Bonn Dynamo (0-2)
Bonn has stumbled out the gate to begin the season. Belfast has been on a roll so far, but hasn't played that great of competition yet. Even with Bonn at 2-0, this will be a test for the Commandos...we will get to see if they are actually as in command as they have shown. This should be some battle here. I don't really know who will come out on top, but I think that the Dynamo will finally get the win they are looking for. This should be a mildly entertaining game, but look for Bonn to break into the win column.
prediction: Bonn gets their first win, 32-21
Footballforum Fighting Danes (2-0) vs. Woodridge Lumberjacks (0-2)
The Danes had a great win against the Portland Rage last week, and this week will be a day off for them. Woodridge is a non-factor this season, and the Danes will just shit all over them. Woodridge isn't going to be able to do anything against the Danes. The Danes could prove to be a dominant force in the pros. A big win against Woodridge, won't really prove much at all. However, it will be fun to watch them drop a buttload of points on a once proud franchise. The Danes broke my heart last week, but now I have to pick them to win....just disgusting.
prediction: Danes make this look easy, winning 140-7
Turin THUNDER (2-0) at. Aberdeen Wrecking Crew (1-1)
After getting owned by the Bluebirds, the Wrecking Crew pulled it together and upset the Alley Cats last week. This should make for a great game. However, I think Turin is playing to well to get upset in this game. They beat two good teams already. Turin should be able to get past the Wrecking Crew. This should be another good game, but the THUNDER always find a way to pull out the win. I think they do the same here. Aberdeen will have the lead at some point, but Turin will come back.
prediction: Turin wins again, 42-32
West Whales Warriors (1-1) at. Hattgenstein Volunteers (1-1)
WWW pulled off a major upset of the Paris Dream Bolts last week, but was it skill or blind luck? Hattgenstein isn't too shabby themselves, but just aren't strong enough to take out the Grizzlies. They certainly put up a fight though. I think that fight will carry over into this game, and WWW will find themselves down in the dumps after playing the Vols. WWW will not volunteer to be beaten, but the Volunteers will not give them that chance. I expect the Warriors to lose some more, and the Volunteers will go back on a winning streak.
prediction: Volunteers win 38-17
Portland Rage (1-1) vs. Paris Philharmonic (0-2)
Both of these teams took tough losses in the second week of action. They need this game to get back on track. Paris is not looking good so far, but they have been playing very tough competition. Portland is good, but maybe not as good as who Paris has already played. I still think that Portland is better, and will win this game. The Philharmonic will definitely play better then they have against Stockholm and E-City. Portland will make the adjustments necessary to continue the success they enjoyed last season. If not, they might be in for a long rest of the season.
prediction: Portland wins the game
Team Perkis (1-1) vs. Greenwood Alley Cat (1-1)
Team Perkis got the win against London, but that doesn't mean much. They will be in for a long season. Greenwood is still upset over losing to the Wrecking Crew, they tried to engineer the comeback, but fell a TD short. In this game they are going to stick it to Team Perkis. This one won't be much of a contest. The fury of the Cat is swift, and Greewood knows no mercy. They will end it before Perkis knows what happened.
prediction: Alley Cat Strike, 77-21
Paris Dream Bolts (1-1) vs. London Monarchs (0-2)
See above, replace Alley Cat with Dream Bolts and Team Perkis with London Monarchs.
P.S. I am watching the movie Bolt while typing this...is that a sign?
prediction: Dream Bolts Strike, 77-21
GAME OF THE WEEK!!!
Graz Grizzlies (2-0) at. E-City Mercenaries (2-0)
This game could have major playoff implications. These teams have been two of the best in the early going of the season. Graz is putting their win streak on the line once more to play the E-City Mercenaries. Will it get to 24? or will it end today? This is the burning question. This is the marquee match-up of the early going. Either of these teams I think have a good shot. It should hopefully be a close, contested match-up. Maybe even giving us a little bit of OT for extra enjoyment. No one can know who will win, but I am going to go with the shocking conclusion of an E-City upset. Graz will fall, and bring their 23 game win streak down with them. However, don't expect that to be the last we see of the Graz Grizzlies. They will be contending until the end.
Prediction: E-City pulls the victory out in OT, 27-24

Interview with godgib owner of the Graz Grizzlies
By: Jayadamo
1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Iīm 30 years old, living in Graz (Austria) and have a family with 2 small kids (my daughter is 3 years old and my son 8 months). Iīm working in the field of biotechnology and I donīt know how I still find some time for GLB.
2. In what season did you purchase your team and how did you decide on the name?
I bought the team in season 1 and I canīt remember why I chose the Grizzlies as mascot. I think this was even the default name the team I bought had.
3. How does it feel for all the hard work you put into this game to pay off with a WEPL Championship?
This title came totally surprising to me. Itīs great to get rewarded for the time and effort I put in the game, still, I have no idea how we managed this perfect season. The Grizzlies have been more of a a casual team in seasons 1-5, we made the playoffs every season but never have been a real contender. However, at this point I had to make a decision in which direction I want to go with the team since the non-boosters dropped back to far. I decided to go for a title and brought in some new talent. I was really keen to win the AAA crown since I thought this would be our biggest chance ever. However, we failed but still got promoted (without a trophy). Some (mainly local) additions later we had our best season ever in the first year in the Pro league (13-3) and you all know about season 8 (20-0) when we finally could land a trophy I never have been thinking of. We had a lot of close games, won by only one possession but they all went to our side. The playoffs were kind of strange since we played the #8, #5 and both #7 seeds. However, compared to some regular season games those were "easier" wins. I donīt want to intimidate our opponents but the gameplans really workes towards our side.
4. What do you think your chances of a repeat are?
The chances are there. However, already the first 2 games in WEPL showed how tough it is to win the title. Almost all teams can beat anybody here, just look at last years playoffs. Our primary goal is to reach the playoffs and secure home-field advantage for 1 or more games. In the playoffs anything can happen.
5. If you had to pick a team to win the championship other than your own, who would it be?
Hard to pick only one team but I think the combined forces of Antwerp and the Rippers will make the Annihilators a legitimate contender.
6. How did recruiting go in the offseason?
It was hard work, really hard work. However, we could fill our team needs and I think we did a good job upgrading our roster. I hope I can keep the roster and donīt have to look for replacements, I donīt know if Iīll have the time and patience to do so.
7. Which newly promoted AAA teams if any do you think could cause some problems for the veteran Pro teams this season?
First team coming to my mind were the Musketeers, however, thay started 0-2 with losses to E-City and Normandy. Hattgenstein did a great job beating the Divots and giving us a really hard fight. However, I think any of them has the abilities to pull of some upsets.
8. What do you think of this seasons sim so far?
Itīs hard to adjust I think. Fumbles are way up, the running game often yields only 1 or 2 yards so itīs hard to find a good running strategy. The QB sliders add some flexibility to the sim so I think we are going in a good direction. However, it is very difficult to adjust to the changes every season.
9. If Bort was to add something new to the game what would you want it to be?
Offensive play creator.
10. Is there anything else you would like to say?
2 things:
1.) Thanks to the great agents on my team, many of them are here since season 1. However, the most important thing for our success are the GMs, namely Yakini who does a tremendous job as defensive coordinator since season 1 and was building a perfect defensive gameplan making the Grizzlies a defensive powerhouse that couldnīt get I slammed. Nuge20 does a great job on offense, he is bringing in a lot of knowledge and runs great gameplans against all kind of defenses. Finally sam_acw who is not only owning the maybe best KR in WEPL but who is also setting up the special teams units that led to 4 KR TDs last season. I think that without our special teams we wouldnīt have won the title last season.
2.) Watch out for the Graz Grizzlies 2nd Generation in season 19. The may be Teddy Bears now but the roster is already set and they will grow tu huge Grizzlies.
