Anyone doing this?

Adding 30% to my kickers stats once we are down by 14 would make him insane.

He would be something like
122 Kicking
100 Confidence
90 Strength
86.5 Vision
59 Agility

And Im only 44. Do this to a level 55 Kicker and you would probably be close to 150 kicking. I dont know what the formula for FG's actually is but I hit over 50% at 50+ last season so makes me wonder just what range on FG's this would give me, let alone a high 50's guy.

down the 14, the last thing your team needs is a field goal.

Down by 15, 4th and long on the opp40 yard line in the second quarter. You would go for it instead of take a FG?

Considering the crap (with the expection of clutch)that kickers got given I was just wondering if this had been considered. I know quite a few teams have a large propertion of their rosters with 15 in big heart as it basically brings every game down to the wire now. And since it goes right up till 3 points down might be nice to get that last min 65 yard FG to take it to overtime.

I agree down by 14 last thing you really want is a FG, but considering how overpowered Big Heart can be was wondering if anyone had considered it for a K.

If not what are people taking after clutch?

you are wrong in your thinking when you are down by 3. when the score difference changes to 3 or less, big heart is deactivated. That means that for your FG to tie the game, it would have to be completely legit, without big heart.

Is Clutch even worth it? We don't know what bonuses we get when it activates. It could be throwing for all we know. I'm not really sure if I want to start investing in it next.

It's not so narrow that it only helps throwing. Bort has said that there are multiple bonuses that would help players of any position, when it activates.

Right, I was being a little facetious. I realize it's probably more than one attribute, but we don't know which ones get activated, regardless of position. Maybe kickers get spd/agi/tak bonuses. Are those really going to help make a kick all that much?

Octowned, you are thinking too traditionally. Down 14 and your team just scored...the last thing you need is your opponent to return yet another kickoff for a TD. Give your defense a chance to make a stop. Kickers do more than just kick FG's.

Honestly, Big Heart is probably a great 3rd or 4th VA and definitely top 5. It really depends on your build, your league and your team needs.

imo, here are the top kicker VA's in no particular order.

Big Heart
Soccer Star
Laces Out
Booming Kick
Heart of a Champion
Swagger
Clutch

Re: Clutch

It adds a bonus to every roll you make when it activates. So, if you are attempting a FG, it adds a bonus to your FG distance roll and another to your FG accuracy roll, etc. Basically, ANY roll your player makes will receive a bonus.

I'm not trying to start anything, but how do you know that for sure? In the description, it says "Each level of Clutch increases the likelihood of triggering a bonus by 5%." It doesn't say anything about rolls, just triggering a bonus, and if I've learned anything in this game, the wording can be exact or completely vague. If that is true about any rolls your player makes, then it would easily be a great VA. I'm just curious as to how you know it adds a bonus to every roll you make.

bort has said that it's a bonus to any roll the player makes, of course what position they are depends on the rolls.

A OL isn't going to be making a kicking roll, their be making blitz pickup checks, hold block checks, etc. Make a roll, get a bonus.

Oh, ok, if Bort said it, then I don't doubt ya. I guess that will be the next VA I invest in.
