I have an idea that I stole from the Europe League. A little late for this now since the season is winding down, but I thought, if there was any interest, we could start a coaches poll for BBB #10. Each coach has 3 points to award to the top teams after each week. The team with the most points is the "top ranked" team. You can distribute points in whatever way you want to (all 3 to one team or spread evenly to three different teams).

Any thoughts or ideas?

Needs to be more than 3 points. We'd end up having a top 3 or 4 poll.

Something like this would be better: Each coach awards 8 points to the strongest team, 7 to the second strongest, 6 to the third, 5 to the fourth, etc. on down to 1 to the 8th. This would at least probably give us a top 10 or so.

Interesting.

And I would like the idea that you can't vote for your own team...obviously...

I agree with not voting for your own team. Is the idea to do this for the west and east individually by the teams in those conferences? If so, we can use a 16 - 1 point system. Give your top rated team 16 points to 1 point for your bottom rated team in the conference.

When you don't vote for your own team, you can give onle point from 15 to 1 in your owm conference.

Good point. You would only have 15 points to disseminate.

yeah, the chiefs are in favor of a coach's poll.

I like the 15-1 voting style.

Cool, you will have to break it down for me (not following you with the points system).

And yes, we can split west/east teams. I don't mind tallying west since it was *my* idea.

*Note* I stole the idea

If I was doing it, it may look something like this

Northwest Nighthawks 15 points
Badlands Abomination 14 points
Santa Fe Regulators 13 points
Gilead Gunslingers 12 points
New Orleans Nation 11 points
Biloxi Dirty Man-Whores 10 points
The Screaming Snails 9 points
Seattle Spartans 8 points
Orange Maners 7 points
Charlestown Chiefs 6 points
Los Angeles Gouchos 5 points
San Diego Savages 4 points
Tulsa Scorpions 3 points
Oakland BlackReign 2 points
Oklahoma City Red Rangers 1 points

The negative to this is that it would hurt the Nighthawks more than the Red Rangers for their own coaches to not vote for them.

We don't really mind. Rankings are rankings, we're not too caught up in it.

But you'll have to average the rankings rather than just add them, because there won't be votes from every team.

Here is my GM submission for this week:

Badlands: 15
Regulators: 14
Nation: 13
Dirty Man-Whores: 12
Gunslingers: 11
Snails: 10
Blitz: 9
Spartans: 8
Maners: 7
Chiefs: 6
BlackReign: 5
Gouchos: 4
Savages: 3
Scorpions: 2
Red Rangers: 1

Originally, this idea was to "rate" how each team faired in their weekly showdown, based on statistical data and execution(W - L, score, yards, missed tackles), but you raise a legit question here, Da...

Is weekly coaching philosophy factored in the the points system? If so, how?

When I think of a team's strength, I HAVE to include the quality of their strategy. It's a good chunk of what goes into my opinion automatically.
