I will gladly step aside to anyone who normally picks in this League. Only picking because trying to fill out my poll so looking at the teams a little and didn't see a post yet.

Dang sure don't want to do all picks during season but if no one else does it I am willing to make "guesses" in Zeta where my Swillers play.

Anyway, this will be Guesses in the truest sense. I don't know how good most of these teams actually are. Here goes.

Today's Games - Next sim in: 9:24:44
Home Team Away Team Score
Sacred Haven Knights vs. Wellington Assassins -----I am very familiar with both of these well run teams. But, Wellington was a top dog in AAA and kicked our butts every time. We beat Sacred Heart in Title game last season. From preseason game we had with Sacred I don't think they have raised their game enough to beat Wellington so Sacred will be seeking Haven, Wellington by 28

Cascade Cajun Crushers vs. Tonga Thunderbirds ---Interesting game. Played Crushers in preseason and they are a good lot. I see Tonga was tough in AAA. I know Tonga's leadership from their Sydney Sea Wasps. They definitely underachieved in preseason. This could go either way. Because of the preseason and that only, I am going with Crushers by 10.

Mean Machine vs. Mata-Utu Voodoo ---- first on many where I know nothing about either team, never crossed swords with them. Scouting bars are impressive for MM. Mata I know by reputation. Mata crushed MM in preseason first game. What does it mean? MM had great rest of preseason. Did loss to Mata wake them up or were the other games just against weaker competition? Looking at last seasons record I am going to make someone prove Mata has lost the magic. Mata by 21.

West Scranton Invaders vs. Tasmania Tigers ---- Wow, an early season knockdown. The King of the Hill versus a tough Tiger team. Loved the Tigers from AAA2. Upset Osaka and made the rest of us very happy. Tigers had great preseason. WSI only had one tough opponent, Mata, and lost to them by 1. Would love to pick an upset here and by gosh I am pulling the trigger, Tigers by 1.

Olden Swillers vs. Canberra Strike ---- Go Swillers! sorry, forgot my supposed impartiality. On paper Swillers are not as good as these guys. The fact they have never played one another, hopefully will playout in favor of Swillers. As a total Homey pick I will go with Swillers by 3.

Banzai Pipeline 'Nites vs. Tasmania Devils ---- Nites beat SWI in Title game last season. How can I pick against the current Champs? Devils had terrible preseason. Nites by 28

Guam Tigers vs. Brisbane Sun Devils ----Brisbane gets easiest game of first weekend. No offense Tigers. No you could take that two ways. Either might be right Tigers are simply outclassed against Brisbane and will be lucky to keep it within 65.

Osaka Buckeyes vs. Aussie Cardinals ---- Osaka are who they are. They walked through the preseason and Aussies crawled through. Osaka starts the season they think will end in Championship with easy win. Osaka by 40

So Cal BDC vs. Orlando Prime Timers ----This one I like. These guys played in Preseason and OPT won by 1. And, they spanked my Swillers. So why not stick with the preseason as reasonable projector? OPT by 1.

Samoa Gangsters vs. Playboy's Players Club ---- Gansters are just going to have a good time at the Player's Club. There is going to be some S&M going on. Ganster's by 55

Guam Devil Dogs vs. Christchurch Knightmares ----Another easy pick for me. Just go with preseason game as best indicator I have not knowing these teams. I don't know either of these teams. On paper knightmares look to be the better team. My gut says Knightmares will make some small adjustments and win this game. But, they didn't make enough of a showing in preseason fro me to make the pick. Dogs by 8.

Fakaofo Bomb Squad vs. Sydney Sea Wasps -----Sea Wasps are new and didn't have preseason they are used to. But, you can see some bright spots in it. I don't know the Bomb squad but they seem to be under performing, for whatever reason. I think the Wasps win this one by 7.

Portland Rain vs. Fiji Sea Turtles ----- 2 more teams I don't know, imagine that. Turtles look like they are going to have a long season. Rain by 60.

Fiji Stingers vs. Molokai Lavastorm ----Stingers are simply going to win this one. Lavastorm has had great run through AAA, but not up to par yet for this level. Stingers by 20.

Brantford Mustangs vs. Kingston Uprising ---- This should be a good game, but Kingston looks awfully tough and I am going with them. Kingston by 14.

Sydney Pelicans vs. GERMAN WILDDOGS ----Wilddogs had the toughest preseason of anyone IMO. What a freaking grinder. Pelicans did well, but with much easier schedule. I just think the Wilddogs having a season under their belt is just too tough for Pelicans right now. Doesn't mean Pelicans couldn't sneak up on them, but my pick is Dogs by 14.

I do want to say one other thing. In going over the teams and comparing and also trying to make my rankings in Alpha and Zeta for Poll, one thing is clear. ZETA is stacked. The top 8 teams are absolute Killers. Alpha drops off significantly after the first 4 teams. I am really not looking forward to what I see as Swillers least successful season by far. But, Swillers will do our best and look forward to playing with some of the Best GLB has to offer.

Some of you will laugh at my "Guesses" and that is part of the fun too. Some may be irritated. Nothing personal and just want you to have fun with it and Good Luck to All.

Things look bleak for the Alpha Conference... I hope I can help them tip the scales next season....

You did hit the nail on the head....Zeta is a meatgrinder (that irritates some ). Alpha has always been stacked at the top for some reason. You are correct, for some reason once you get past their top 4 or 5 nobody can seem to make a run. Zeta, honestly has teams that can knock off anyone on anyday.

Not intended to irritate anyone, its just the way it honestly has been for the last 4 to 5 seasons.

New OC here for the Strike, will be a great game today. As for other predictions, I think WSI will pull off the W.

I would like to extend a GL the Tasmania Tigers. You guys are a great team and it should be a great game in a few hours here. Here's hoping for WSI by 1

GG WSI, we have a long way to go, although the game was closer than it looks by the score.

Zeta:
12-4

Might be the most lopsided League in GLB

I know Gambler... you've got quite a touch. Just don't pick us by 37 anymore when we play you.
