I have a +4 Big Boot, +6 punting piece

I want to also get another piece

I rolled a +1 calm nerves piece

It's cheap. Is it worth getting as a second piece of AEQ?

No. Calm nerves is never worth it alone. Here is why..

Say you have it at level 40 = +4 calm nerves. To level 40 took you 8 upgrades, or 16 bonus token cashins. The opportunity cost of this piece is thus 16 SP.

The max level a SA has value is 10. I'm assuming you have custom. Thus to get to 10, now you need calm nerves to 5, so 5 + 4 + 1 = 10. This implies the value of the piece is to go from 5 -> 9 (not 6 -> 10, the custom is a given here).

That value is 3+4+4+5 = 16 skill points.

So you "break even." So why not have a full 16 games of +5s?

The only time a +1 SA +0 stat piece is worth it for ANY POSITION is if it is the last SA in the tree. Remember that rule

Well getting from 10-11 is much less than getting from 9-10

Diminishing returns, so we're not sure if it's much less or just less.

The last time I'd ever consider spending anything on an SA is to get it to 10. Bort said while 14 has better value than 10, it wont do much, to curb possible exploits.

Sure, in theory ppl now could be at like 20+, but that doesn't mean the value is really much at all.

Not in my calculations, at least. I consider the SP value to stop at 10. Here is why:


With AE to get to 10: take base to 5, then 4 AE, then custom = 10
With AE to get to 11: take base to 6, then ... = 11.

So the COST of going from 10 to 11 is the cost from 5 to 6 with AE. I personally have a suspicion that going from 10->11 isn't worth 3 SP.

Thus, the value stops at 10, to me. Going higher means you made a mistake and took the base too high, or didn't plan ahead well enough with your equip, or shouldn't be stacking two AEs to get that up to 13 or whatever but instead could split them and get better value on 2 SAs, etc., etc.



I know 11 > 10. But I'd never consider it given the opportunity cost of any method getting you there.

But the thing is, with my punter, I wasn't being dumb and not planning by getting my SAs to 8 base. I don't have CE and when I built my player, there wasn't any AEQ...

But I am on a quest to get another piece of AEQ because I have 32 bonus tokens to use right now. I have a +6 punting, +4 Big Boot piece, and a +5 confidence piece that I have to hold tokens, which I can just sell easily. Plus another 16 tokens randomly.

So I basically want a +1 or +2 punting with a Calm Nerves or Hang Time?

I have 14 in Calm Nerves, with 6 coming from 2 pieces of AEQ. I've noticed a difference for my kicker having a shit ton of CN.

Any out of position AEQ worth it for punting?

I would say no because none of them really help with punting at all...automatic is for kickers only and the others would only help with return coverage, which is a waste of AEQ imo

Thanks, I figured I would read it here. But rolling a +1 punting, quick step, got me wondering if and could work (though I also can't imagine any helping)
