I just want to see if I'm the only one who feels this way, but does anyone else feel like DTs have been nerfed this season? I know my DT has been pretty consistent with his production and now he can barely do anything in the preseason. I did just go up from AA to AAA but I can't imagine that has had this big of an affect.

What is the general consensus on this?

I think you went from AA to AAA and should expect a decline.

My guys have been doing about the same as last year.

I look at people like Vanilla Ice though and I see that he has 1 sack in three preseason games and a whole lot less tackles than normal. I've seen that across the board from looking at solid DTs except for maybe RUN HARD's DT. Just feels like lack of attribute VAs has really hurt DTs.

I do think the nerf of attribute VAs hurt d-linemen more than most positions. In most cases DTs and DEs needed much higher agility/speed vs OTs to make any impact in the game...so losing 10+ points off of those attributes really hurts.

I've been saying this would be the case since the end of last season...

im no ready to call em nerfed yet... yea vanilla isnt having the best pre-season but it could be because of the VA's i am testing or the fact most the guards ive been up against have already boosted while i havent or he could be "nerfed" its too early to call

It's definitely the VA nerf you're seeing. Big loss of agility. Also happening to outside linebackers who are down 10 points each in speed and agility.

It's scrimmages, is your DC going to show everything he has right up front? I see most teams going thru the motions until the season begins, then stepping up again in playoffs.

You wouldn't want to share those VAs, would you?

I agree My guy can't get around blockers. He just bounces off all them like a pinball, even with 15 in heavyweight. You figure with a 30% more chance to knock someone down, and you break about 6 blocks a play. You figure you would get more sacks. I think they either got nerfed, or the o-line got a beef.

The O-Line did get a slight beef since many are still using Great Blocker since it gives +.5%. Both sides lost their strength VA so that's a wash, but DTs lost Agility.

Also many OLmen are adding Showboat blocker as well which helps them against the DT after getting the first pancake. DTs get heavyweight, but that only helps after already beating the OL.

DTs are adding things like powertackler that don't effect the DL-OL interaction at all. So I would expect the OL to get a slight boost.

that and pass blocker works on 2nd down and long while pass rusher only works on 3rd / 4th down... gives OL another advantage that they do not need, especially OT's vs. DE's

Yea this is 100% true, my DT that did very well last season isn't doing anything now
