I'll have 17 points to spend later. I'm thinking max out Heavyweight, but beyond that I'm not sure.

Also any other build tips appreciated of course, even though I think maybe I'm gonna retire him after this season and start over since I didn't know how to build correctly until like a season or so ago.

Why is everyone so up on Heavyweight? Why not Sure Tackler, Power Tackler or BrickWall? I would think for a DT, Brickwall (Stopping the Runner) and Power Tackler (Cause Fumbles) would be more important then the possibility of getting 8-10 sacks on the year.

None of the SA's you mentioned are bad (although I question the strength of brick wall), and I personnaly think power tackler is great. However, heavyweight has ALOT going for it. It helps against pass and run, works with a majority of DL builds, and it has proven to give results. Also, sacking the QB certainly can lead to fumbles, even w/o power tackler. It really boils down to opinion in the end, though.

A well built interior linemen is not going to miss many tackles in my experience. DT should be nasty-fide, imo.

What about Streaky? If you pump 15 VA's into Streaky, you should receive an 80% chance of having a good day. Why wouldn't that be the perfect VA for a DT?

Well I've put 10 in heavyweight and 7 in pass rusher... but I'm not sure how much value there is in a situational boost type of VA in pass rusher. Our team is pretty good defensively but the 3rd and long passing plays still only happens a relatively few times per game, and like maybe a quarter or more of those times I'm not even in the play on account of the DT rotation my team is running. I think that maybe going into something like power tackling instead would be more beneficial. But I suppose then I need to get my natural tackling a bit...?

This seems like a great idea once I get to lvl 40 and can shuffle around my VAs hopefully with another reset, but only once I can actually sink the whole 15 at once.

I recommend Just the Snap and Heavy Weight. Pass Rusher is too limited, how many 3rd and 4th downs do your DE play in a game? Pass Rusher would be awesome if Bort adds second and long.

Anyway, so far after the reset my DE 2 sacks against a lvl 37 OT, so far so good.

My question is, does Streaky provide a 65% chance to fire or an 80% chance to fire? Has Bort Commented on this?
