If a LB has 70 strength and 60 tackle and plays on power tackle then gets 30 missed tackles in the season.

Is it then safe to say that the same LB had he had 70 strength and 50 tackle playing on power tackle would he miss more tackles?

Trying to determine if tackling is the deciding factor at the check or if strength plays a roll or both. I want to know for sure so if anyone knows let me have a link please. Though, theory's are welcome.

if u have 70 str and 60 tackling and you miss 30 tackles something went horribly wrong.

playing on combo would probably net you less missed tackles. As far as if 70/50 would have made a difference the only real way to tell would be to have 2 LBs, one with say 70 strength and 14 tackling and the other with 70 tackling and 14 strength(pulled numbers out of my backside...), play against the same team running the same tactics for both games and see the difference on missed tackles between the two players.

Would he miss more tackles with 10 less in tackling? It's not a given necessarily. It would increase the likelihood of him missing a tackle. Nobody knows for sure how tackles are decided. We do know the following; there is a "make_tackle" roll, and there is a "tackle quality" number, whether they're the same or not, I don't know.

Is the question here, what is more important for making the tackle, tackling or strength?

Tackling.

put ur tackling on balanced. making 20 more tackles is better than getting about 2 extra forced fumbles.

I keep seeing that agility is important for the quality tackle roll too.

What i'm really trying to find out here is which attribute determines the roll. If our LB's play all season on power tackle which attribute should we get to 3rd caps first, tackle, power, agility OR what i keep seeing is go balanced at this point and get all 3 at atleast the 60 cap. All of our LB's are 67 agility as it is so it would be nothing to go balanced on tackle/strength. Too bad Bort doesnt answer these type of questions usually.

Tackling probably has the highest influence but agility, vision, speed, and strength also have varying levels off influence on the roll. Having a really low number in one hurts more than a really high number in the others, with the possible exception of strength (it is possible to be a good tackler with low strength). The type of tackle you are making makes a difference. If you are a lineman, you are making a different type of tackle than a safety.
