Season 1

The First Encounter

4/4/08 - GLB is in it's developing period. South East Asia AA is the league. This is the first game of a shortened 5 game season. ESL beats BLPP 34-20. Niether team truly knew what this rilvalry would develop into. ESL made it to the conference championship only to be turned away to another season in AA.

Season 2

A Rilvary Is Born

ESL Plows through the competition to a 15-1 record. BLPP is right on their tail with the 2 blemishes on their record coming from ESL and The Manilla Hitmen.

5/11/08 - The regular season matchup is hardly a match at all. ESL controls the game. A main stay of ESL Beav Nizzle averages 4 yards per carry this game. A 26-0 shut out proves ESL to be the true power house of South East Asia.

6/2/08 - Similar to the situation we face today, ESL and BLPP are meeting in the conference championship. ESL has been a juggernaut to this point. Yet to allow even a single point in all of the playoffs. They are primed to sieze this moment. BLPP has had a much rougher ride to the championship. In the second round BLPP was down to The Hitmen at half time 13-3. Theiy came back to win that game 16-13 on a last minute field goal. As the clash of these two titans came to a head, The game was one for the ages. With just 3 minutes left, ESL had tied the game with a field goal. But it was BLPP who came out victorious again with a field goal made with less then 2 minutes left in the game. BLPP completed their quest and captured the league championship 2 days later. These two teams knew they were destined to meet eachother again.

Season 3

Expansion and Seperation

As GLB grew so did the leagues. Southeast Asia had many leagues added to it to support the demand of all the new teams added to GLB. The GLB frenzy had arrived.

Due to growth the old Southeast Asia AA was now named Southeast Asia AAA 2. This where ESL now called home. By traditional promotion BLPP had moved to the old Southeast Asia AAA. The two teams had a very similar runs in their new leagues. Both teams went 16-0 during the regular season and won their conferences. ESL outdid BLPP by winning their league championship. BLPP had fallen to the defensive juggernaut NACJAC.

Season 4

Rebirth of the rivalry

8/15/08 - It had been months since their last meeting and these teams quickly picked up where they left off. Verbal Jabs in the forums where expected as these two teams knew anytime they stepped on the same field, it would be a battle for supremecay. BLPP Picked up the victory in dominant fashion winning b more than 2 Touchdowns.

9/4/08 - Both teams had taken their lumps in the SEAPL. The pro leagues truly were the cream of the crop. Established Pro teams such as The Bangkok Seamen and Singapore Marauders layed down the law during the regular season. ESL and BLPP were scheduled for a 1st round match up. ESL gave BLPP a heavy dose of Beav Nizzle. 3 Touchdowns on the day sealed the deal for ESL. Both teams fell short of the championship, but they both knew this rilvalry was far from dead.

Season 5

ESL establishes a sense of dominance

10/08/08 - Another classic matchup between these two storied teams. Witht he lead going into the 4th quarter, BLPP dropped the ball and blew the lead as ESL went on to in 20-13.

10/28/08 - After elimanting the once dominate Bangkok Seamen BLPP was back in the conference championship. ESL had just escaped again on a 4th quarter comeback over Off Constantly. What would come to be a regular beatin ESL had once again come out on top of BLPP in a defensive battle. 13-10 was the final score. Truly a clash of titans.

Season 6

ESL continues to roll

11/24/08 - This game truly was an instant classic. Bandar had gone up 7 points with just 47 seconds left in the game. It seemed wrapped up. A lapse in focus on defense let an 80 yard catch and run go in for the touchdown and tie. With Overtime looming BLPP never got another chance for redemption. 15 straight beav nizzle runs sealed the game with a field goal.

12/16/08 - With this second round match up the stage was not as big as previous match ups. With that said the game did not disappoint. BLPP had gone up 4 with less than 2 minutes away, but with what had become quite theme over the season they watched this lead disappear before their eyes as ESL made another come back to win 30-27.

Season 7

A return to balance of power

1/27/09 - BLPP not to be out down reloaded ready to take down ESL. As opposed to their previous defensive battles this game was high scoring and seemed more like arena football than the traditional grid iron. This time BLPP had mounted a lead that could not slip away. ESL had scored 16 points in the 4th quarter but it was not enough to stop this BLPP team as they fell 49-40.

The stage was set for another Conference Championship meeting. BLPP could not hold up their end as they fell in the second round to The Katanas. The season ended with dissapoint ment for BLPP as they could not finish their quest for the League Championship.

Season 8

With rumors of a World League looming could this be end of a rilvalry?

3/4/08 - Another classic meeting to add to this rilvary's resume. These two teams went back to their roots with a defensive battle. Season 8 has been the year of the power back but both teams opted to throw the ball more than 35 times each. BLPP came out victorious once more with 24-17 victory.

4/3/08 The Next Chapter, SEASON 8 NAGA CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

The day after this game will mark the 1 year anniversary of the first BLPP/ESL match up.

GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS

I still remember the season 2 championship game (bolded above) like it was yesterday. Watching that game felt like what it must have felt if you had just seen your puppy go up in flames on the Hindenburg. ESL threw four interceptions and fumbled an additional four times (losing 3).. leading to a total of 7 turnovers by us alone that game! You guys took that game and then went on to take the league Gold.. while we just sat and seethed (like the character in Red Dawn who just cleans his weapon constantly..... and like fat boy in Full metal Jacket who gets hit with soap) and licked our wounds

the prospect of revenge has been our fuel ever since

i can vouch for season two turning plank into a pirate hating machine.

for those of you out there who really want to delve into our storied history, our real first meeting has been left untold.

on April 3rd of 2008, I was contacted by the owner of the Yukon Gold Rush. He had a center with desireable skills available for a cash trade. I didnt bother asking why he contacted me, it was early in the game for all of us and building a sucessful roster was all that mattered.

And so i pulled the trigger, and Jeremy Dunn
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=71418
became a tire fire.

it wasnt until later that day that i found out why he had been traded: Dunn was a friend of Bandar's through pigskin addiction (some kind of cosplay site, i think). He had requested a trade to bandar and the owner, out of spite, had traded him to ESL on the day before our two teams would meet.

A tough decision was to be made. send a good looking center over to bandar the night before we were to play each other? it was put to a vote and was met with a resounding FUCK NO

so mr dunn was benched for the game and traded to bandar the next day. i am sure bandar not having jeremy had nothing to do with thier loss in that first season.
