So my DT is lvl 16 with 68 in str and soon to be 68 in agility after some boosting. My question is what should I work on next? My tackling is at 34 right now, speed is 26, and vision is 15. I assume either speed or vision, but since tackling gets so much bonus from leveling, I wonder if it would be worth to cap it so that the returns from leveling are worth more SPs in the long run.

I'd take your str/agi to 73 natural honestly then I'd get spd up to 48, vision up to about 35, then speed to 60 and vision to 48.

I usually go ahead and cap tackling before working on speed for the very reason you mention. I think too many people ignore the benefit of major attributes in player creation.
I agree with the other response about taking strength and agility at least 1 cap higher but I would then cap tackling before double capping speed and then moving onto vision. This will give you a little more time to train speed since its still low enough to benefit, and plenty of time to train Vision before committing SPs.
If you find yourself going back and adding point to an attribute you had capped previously, then (with a few exceptions) you are not going to have the tightest build at the end.

Up to 73 really? It seems like the amount of SP's spent to get that isn't worth the gain in other attributes

I'd do tackling myself. I'm a believer in tackling, especially when used correctly.

I just know that I took my str/agi up to 68 early on my level 41 DT and afterward I wished I had taken them both to 73. It's definitely your perogative but I just think it's a good long-term investment.

how long does it take to round out that build though?

My level 18 DT has 60 str/74 agi, I'll have 73 str by level 25 which will be at the start of next season with my 3 boosts at the end of this season, 1 normal level up and 3 boosts to start next season to start getting VPs.

I took Strength and Agility to the 5:1 (73.25) and 6:1 (77.23) cap for this guy. They are currently 79 and 82 - Base.

I'm happy with where he is right now. I plan on taking speed to 68 and capping stamina while continuing to train Vision/Confidence. I'm building for the pro leagues so I realize hes still a little unbalanced now, but hes still had decent success. (He's short 2 equipment upgrades as well.)

i take it he's agility focused on evasive rushing style? he's already racking up sacks so that's pretty solid ...

Since I am not a big FF guy I'm leaving it at the 61 cap. I've decided to pump speed next season. If I were going to do a NT I'd strongly consider high tackling, tackling AEQ, and power tackling tactics, but only with enough agility and breakthrough to manage 5 or more tackles a game.
