Big Money should be locked in. they play two playoff bound teams in Wellsboro and Bunghole, but their armor is too thick and their guns are too powerful. Their position has been earned. Kudos to Jack and his boys. They'd even make decent pirates.

2 and 3
Phoenix and the Orangutans will have the final chapter of the race for the number two spot on the last day of the regular season. At first glance that doesnt really appear to mean much, except bragging rights, but the winner of that game will play their likely rematch two games later at home. that's nothin to sneeze at.

Bunghole looks to be locked in here. Helluva season for them, first time in the playoffs, and a home game. Well done! I hear the doors are open and all the booze is free....

5 and 6
Baton Rouge and Gardner play for seed 5 today, in what may be the most important game of the year for each squad. the loser plays Oregon or Pheonix (horrible prospects for either), and the winner plays Bunghole (not easy, but preferred to the other two). Opinions may differ, and I'm biased, but I think a trip to a liquor store is more suited for Buccaneers than Paraplegics. *grin*

Wellsboro should be locked in here

8th and final spot
Santa Fe and Oregon will duke it out for the final spot in the last game of the season.

Unless my figuring is off, that makes only 3 games that have meaning left. Baton Rouge and Gardner later today, and Phoenix/Orangutans and Santa Fe/Lumberjacks next game. Let's crowd the stands and cheer 'em on, folks.

Oh wait, we're all playin. OK, send all your cheerleaders.

Best of luck Jack. It should be a good game today that could really go either way. Like you said the #5 seed is much more appealing at this point than the 6th seed, so this is definitely an important game.

Well, depends on how you look at it. If you win, as the 5 seed, you more than likely will play Big Money in the second round. Being the 6th seed, has the most potential for a home game in the second round (two upsets). Then, if you keep the ball rolling, potentially you could face the winner, in the finals (BMD), or whomever, if BMD gets knocked out. Tragic run on sentence. Thanks for the props.

Bucs pull it out.

holy cow, that was a tough game. well fought, Gardner. We were damn lucky you didnt start that surge a bit sooner. Pretty evenly matched goin in, I figured your passing game was gonna give us fits. and it did! whew.

Now let's plow through our next few opponents and get a re-match in the championship. *grin*

well i think we're looking at it as the top three teams having a good bit of an edge over the 4-7 bunch which are much closer together. so playing the #3 seed appears less likely to get a win than facing the #4 seed. (for example- Bucs lost to Phoenix 63-21 and Oregon 62-13 compared to losing 17-13 to Bunghole so a rematch against Bunghole would be the better matchup for us). we figure we'll probably lose to any of the big 3 again so getting the #5 slot is our best chance to get our first playoff win under the current regime.

Yeah, it was a lot closer than the score let on. Can't wait to face you guys again (hopefully!).

yeah it was closer than the score showed. any given sunday, and all that. Gardner, Bunghole, Wellsboro, the Lumberjacks, and the Bucs are all in that region where the games could go either way, these days. It don't look like any of us will move on. Gonna be highly competitive next season, for sure!

Today's important games:

Good luck to the Regulators and Lumberjacks! last spot is up for grabs. with the dubious honor of goin to the Dynasty's home field. *shudders* The Lumberjacks look strong for this one, but I've been wrong a lot of times this season.

Phoenix and the Orangutans also decide today who will be home field through the first two games, barring an upset. Good luck, friends. I can't pick a winner in this game.
