We had a sit down with John Calderon of the Kansas Warriors (4-7,USA Pro-League) and asked him how he felt about being a backup.
Pan Datrick (Reporter): How do you feel about losing this recent game to the Detriot Nasty ?
John Calderon: It never feels good to lose but its part of the game hopefully we can gather some experience from this and play better the next time out.
Pan Datrick (Reporter): Overall how do you feel being a backup SS for a losing team ?
John Calderon: I would prefer to be a starter but I'm happy with my current situation.I get enough playing time and I also get paid pretty good. The team has talent but we just can't get it together. We have really good players out there on the field every game and it hasn't paid off, hopefully we can regroup and make a run for the playoffs.Even if its a slim chance we still have one.
Pan Datrick (Reporter): What do you think about these new players wanted to be starters right away and asking for tons of money ?
John Calderon: I really don't know if they think about it.They should know that there isn't enough starting spots for every one in the game.I personally like playing special teams if I'm not the starter.I like helping other people out on the team if they ask me for help. All I'm trying to say is they should not worry about starting right away because hard work goes a long way and being a leader helps alot too.As for money why would they need so much money ? I just need enough to train and get some new equipment. It's not like you have to pay virtual rent here (laughs).
Pan Datrick (Reporter): (laughs) Well thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us.
John Calderon: No problem thanks for having me on.
Pan Datrick (Reporter): Well till next time this is Pan Datrick signing off.
