I am building 2 SS. I would like to make one a hard hitter and the other a coverage SS. I think I am finished with speed for both. They almost have 68 each w/o eq. Now its time to move on to my next skills.

My plan for the hard hitter is to take vision, tackling and strength to 61 in that order. I will split my EQ 4 ways between speed, vision, strength, and tackling. The hope is to have enough eq from CE and AE to give all 4 abilities 8 points. Hopefully by level 40 level gains and eq should put the 4 major skills at 80+ speed and 70+ vision, tackling, and strength. Obviously by level 40 I will have capped some of the minor skills like agility and confidence.

I have no clue how to go about building a coverage SS. I am thinking I will just build him like a CB. The only problem is that agility is a minor skill for SS so I feel weird taking a secondary skill to or past the 2nd softcap. Any thoughts on either build idea?

For the hard hitter, tackling > strength in terms of forcing fumbles. Strange, I know, but that seems to be how it works. For both safeties, you'll need to be able to get to the ball carrier, so speed/agility/vision are all important. Rolling with soft capped agility will be a bad look, as your SS will have trouble accelerating and adjusting to the movements of a HB/WR/TE/etc.

Thanks, I understand the need for agility. I just don't know where I sould go with it in my build plans. I prefer to take advantage of my level gains and minor skills like agility just don't pay off like the major skills do. That is from a level gain point of view. I know that the minor skills like agility pay off in the sims.

They are both slow build so they can suck for a while. LOL

Right, I was talking in general, not specific skill order. In that case, you'll probably want to go strength/vision/tackling next for the hard hitter, and vision for the coverage SS.

Yeah--for a coverage safety if you're slowbuilding you should take speed to 68 and vision to 60 before you start to spend SP in agility. The problem is that agility is much more important than strength or tackling for you (again, if you're coverage), so it's going to need to be at least 60 natural, preferably 68+.
