Here's a couple of things I'd remember going forward:
1) Figure out what you want your player to be. Is he going to be a receiving specialist? If so, cap "Vision", then "Catching", and then pour SPs like mad into "Speed" and "Agility".
Is he going to be a crushing blocker? If so, cap "Strength" to the second cap, then "Blocking" to the first, and then "Vision" to the first.
Or is he going to be a balanced TE? If so, take "Blocking", "Strength", "Catching", and "Vision" to their softcaps in roughly that order (since that's how your build would most easily reach the first cap given where you have things at the moment).
2) Lay off the "Special Abilities" for awhile--I wouldn't put any more points there until you're level is in the 20s;
3) Get that equipment straightened out--its unlikely that you're optimal build would include equipment in "Carrying". You can sell that piece back and get half the in-game cash you spent on it back.

At this point you should have either one skill over 60 unequipped or two skills over 48 unequipped.
You have to understand that you are building a player for the long haul, not just one or two seasons. You have to look at how the player will look in the future, in your 5th through 10th seasons. You can build a balanced player for now and it might be somewhat effective for a season or two, but if you work balanced build without focusing on aiming for caps is building a player that will not be very good in later seasons.

I was going to say that he's only lvl 12, no need to restart, but I think that was my buzz talking. even as a balanced TE you should have capped a few abilities by lvl 12. I hate to say it but I would agree with everyone else.
