Over the first 10 games this season I've been averaging about 1:1 in terms of Coffin Corners to Touchbacks, but most of the Touchbacks were attempted CCs so I wasn't too concerned as it looked like I was on the right track. I had banked 9VA so I put them into Clutch hoping it would make a difference.

Right now I am on a bit of a Touchback streak. I have punted normal punts, but no CCs. I have now kicked 4 touchbacks in a recent games, and what's worse they were all right up the middle. I am wondering if I've just been getting bad rolls, or if perhaps the Clutch VA is causing the change in punting approach (i.e. trying to go for a fair catch and not a touchback). Right now, my clutch is at 11.

Anyone else running into a strong f bad punting luck? Over that period I have also hit a season's best punt and a few season's worst punts. Is this Clutch at work?

My streak was more Touchbacks early in the season. It's also hard to tell because 3 games ago my owner closed shop, so I'm punting in mop-up role (not too many corner attempts anymore)

my punter doesn't even attempt coffins half the time despite having 5 in nail in the coffin... Most of the time he just boots it straight out of the end zone.... I don't know if this is a glitch, shitty ai, shitty game planning, all of the above or what...

Unless you have 100 punting, 70 confidence, 60 vision, and are punting from behind the opponents 40 yard line, I wouldn't worry too much about what happened on the punt. It is either A) too early in your build plan / career or B) a bad AI decision or bad luck with 4th and 12 on the 39 or something ridic that has forced you to kick a touchback.

If the comment was directed at my level 46 punter, with VAs I've got the 100/70+/60+ that you're suggesting, although I am taking lots of punts (still) from the OPP half of the field. But I was doing that early on in the season too, and was still getting 1 touchback for every 1.1 CC. My biggest concern per se is not just the TBs though, but the fact that I am not even trying to kick a CC anymore (in the replays the ball just flies straight down the middle of the field). At the start of the season the vast majority of my TBs were CCs that went wrong.

My thought is that Clutch could have something to do with this, now that I've got 11 in it and so am "getting various bonuses on 3rd and 4th down, especially late in the game." Looks like one of those bonuses is to TBs

Interesting (single sample 3 games) example:

Game 2: 6 punts - 5 corner kicks (Own 36.5 & closer for all 5), 3 Touchbacks

Game 6: 9 punts - only 3 coffin attempts of 7 in the "corner range" (corners from own 42.5, opp 40.5, 44.5)(4 strait kicks (own 40.5, 46, 38.5 & 33.5)) (1 oob, 1 in bounds, one TB)

Game 14 (mind you, now a dismantled team) 26 punts: 6 corner attempts of 15 in the "corner range" (corners from own 36.5, 42, 31.5, 46, 36.5, opp 43) (strait kicks from own 31.5, 34, 32.5, 41.5, 31.5, 33.5, 32.5, 36, opp 46.5, 45)

I understand the longer ones not being attempted, but it does seem more corners had been attempted earlier in the season.

He's had 15 in clutch all season, and I've been adding NitC as I've been gaining the VA (he's at 4 in it right now)

Ok, panic time. Five more punts, only one of which was headed remotely towards the sidelines but never actually made it close. One more straight up the middle touchback from a distance that earlier this season was always a CC attempt.

Prior to the game I made some tweaks. I dropped Big Boot to 9 from 12 and upped Hang Time to 11. Punting 100, Confidence 76, Vision 63 & 11 in Clutch.

There had better be a VA reset this off season or else I'm clutched

Ok, the universe is back in alignment, but I am even more confused than before.

Didn't make the playoffs, so playing scrimmage games. 8 punts today, lots of CC attempts, even a fair catch. If this game had been typical of the entire season I would be very happy. Heck, I even punted a 59 yard CC that went out at the 2. (and yes, that was my longest punt of the year).

I still have no clue as to what is going on, especially since the only attribute changes I've made since above are maybe +2 to jumping from training.
