Will a piece of Advanced Equipment that gives a +# to the "Blitz" Special Ability do ANYTHING for a defensive tackle? i.e., does the program consider a tackle rushing the passer to be "Blitzing"?

yes the blitz considers all pass rushers to be "blitzing" bort posted this somewhere a while ago

However, as a DT is unlikely to get into the backfield... you could definitely find better SAs on AE.
I mean a good DE will get back there and wreak havoc a bit, but overall their QB-rushing stats are far lesser than a LB or DE would have

I would say the exact opposite about DTs and DEs this season. DTs have an easier time getting into the backfield.
