SS:

Natural speed of 50.

FS:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1239843
Natural speed of 51.

I'm a little bit lost on where I should next be placing my points. Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

Keep going with speed. You're going to want it to be at least 68 base for each.

Okay, speed it is. Thanks guys.

61 is good enough of a speed cap. No need to go past the 3:1 cap with skill points.

Vision before speed? How high? I've been training it.

This is entirely incorrect.

The best way to build a safety, imo, is to get the three most important skills to at least 68 base (speed, agility, vision, in no particular order), doesn't really matter which order you do it in, unless you're trying to be effective immediately.

This. The whole post.

And if you decide to get one to the 74 cap, I'd choose speed of the three. Not because I think that speed is THAT much better, but safeties both get Agility/Vision boosts through SA, while they don't get one to speed.

FWIW, my ideal level 45ish SS would look like:

74 speed
68 agility
68 vision
60 tackling
48 strength
48 jumping
48 stamina

Coverage Tree:
5-5-0-0-0
Hard Hitter Tree:
4-0-0-0-0

I'm not sure if that's actually possible for level 45... But if jumping and stamina were both at say, 43 instead it wouldn't be that huge of a deal. It's more how I value things than something that's set in stone.

Yes, you are the God of GLB and know all of the best builds possible. Using skill points to bump up one attribute is the best way to go as soon as possible. We should all bow down to you.

By the way... my safeties with base ~61 speed have done very well. There is no need to go up to 68. Why 68 for that matter? Why not the next cap? Or the next one? 61 is just fine.

Nope Safeties need to have at least, AT LEAST 68 speed natural. It makes them Gewd. Try it with your level 50. Or be satisfied with your low amount of P.D's. Either way I don't give a shit. it's your player after all.

You said there is no need to go past 61 base, and that is entirely incorrect as many people have found the need to go past that level. It's basic rationale, no need to get defensive.

Speed does not equal passes defensed. The magic number of 68 will not all of a sudden increase passes defensed. And, if you look at the team I play on, they are in the Canada Pros with very good QB's. Those QB's probably have good builds. Passes defensed is hardly an issue with my Level 50 player. And, I would put Samus' build to anyones and come away knowing I have a better build. She has not been on the best teams but her build is great... without a base 68.

Ah, no biggie, and my notion is not incorrect insomuch as the notion to have a 68 speed is correct. A player can be built just as effectively if not more effective with less than a 68 speed from the FS/SS position as any other. A player does not need 68 speed in order to be good.

I think speed is one of the most important FS attribs.

Without it I wouldn't have two Def TD's and as many PD's as I have this season.

Even with all my speed I still can't catch some guys. Which means: I need more speed.
