Anyone have a sense of how badly out of position penalties affect performance?

FS to SS and vice versa seems to make sense, but what about:

CB -> S, is the penalty worse?
S --> LB
DE --> LB
LB --> S

I would assume that all of the following (and maybe some I missed) have close to the minimum penalty:

FS->SS
SS->FS
CB->FS
FS->CB
DE->LB

HB->FB
FB->HB
FB->TE
TE->FB
OT->OG
OT->C
OG->OT
OG->C
C->OT
C->OG

CB->WR

I think ss/lb are more interchangeable than fs/ss, but i could be wrong

Maybe. I'd say:

FS to SS
SS to OLB

But not LB to SS



I have played SS at OLB, and he played fairly well. Of course, that was season 4, and it was an expansion team, but he did well.
