Nice job, thanks for taking on the task of doing the shows.

I'll just post my recap in here too to keep things consolidated.

Game 10 Recap

Alpha

In the Alpha GOTW, the Graz Grizzlies do an outstanding job of overcoming 4 interceptions and 6 sacks to defeat the Paris Dream Bolts 21-20. Graz continues to go against the GLB grain and has a very good passing game. In this game their top 4 WRS all had 4+ catches and all had 10+ avg per catch. This game featured a lot of defensive stops, punts and opportunities missed. Ultimately the dagger came on a 56 yd TD where the WR was hit in stride and only needed a couple yards of separation. The score put Graz up by 8 late in the 3rd. Graz continued to pass even up 1 late in the game and gave Paris an opportunity to win the game late. PDB started their final drive with 2:55 left and drove from their own 9 into Graz territory, but 4 straight incompletions on the Graz 47.5 yard line ended their undefeated Alpha run. A great game that leaves Graz with the inside track to the #1 seed. They're undefeated and have a 2 game lead and tie breaker leader over the 2nd and 4th place teams. Their lone remaining A game matchup is Woodridge.

The Bonn Dynamo let a game literally slip through their fingers today vs Black Watch. Trying to objective, but I think Bonn was the better team today as they were more consistent, but Black Watch made the plays necessary to win the game. BW scored their first TD on a 34.5 yd pass with less than 40 seconds in the half and they were out of timeouts. Bonn rallied to lead 20-13 in the second half, but couldn't put BW away. BW rallied to tie it late, Bonn drove into game winning FG territory under 2 minutes to go and threw an interception as the ball bounced off of the TE and into the LB's hands. BW still had to drive 30+ yds in little time, they did and kicked the GW FG with 20 or so seconds to go. Heartbreaking loss for Bonn, but a possibly season saving game for BW as they are now 5-5 and 9th place.

The Woodridge Lumberjacks rolled over the Lyon Sharks 45-10. This was a 7 point game entering the 4th quarter, but 3 interceptions in the 4th quarter and 4 total by Lyon proved to be their demise. Woodridge scored 28 points in the 4th fueled by the TOs to make the score look like a blowout.

In other games:
Paris Philharmonic rolled over the CPU Aviators 255-0
Belfast Commandos won a close one over Turin, 24-20. Belfast's RB duo notched 120 yds or so each. Turin was forced to settle for a FG with 2:39 left to bring the deficit to 4, but couldn't move the ball on their final possession and Belfast holds on to the win.
E-City got back on track vs West Wales Warriors winning a high scoring affair 48-31 which featured only FG in the whole game. The teams combined for almost 1000 yards and this game was also only a 14-7 lead for E-cty at the half. E-City's power back broke the game open on the 1st play of the 3rd quarter and rumbled for a paragraph filled pbp of broken tackles for a 65 yd TD. The score put E-City up by two scores and late rallies by WWW only made the score look better as the real damage was done in the 3rd quarter.
The London Monarchs despite doing less than nothing on the ground, pass their way to a 21-17 win over the Aberdeen Wrecking Crew. The Monarchs had -20.5 yds rushing, but 381 passing. Oddly enough the winning squad didn't even score in the 2nd half. Aberdeen closed the gap in the 2nd half and even had the ball deep in London territory with 8 minutes to go and decided on going for it on 4th instead of kicking the chip shot FG, they failed and never threatened again. The Monarchs notch a good win, but it's probably too late for the playoffs, but it makes their disappointing season a little better.
And finally, Team Perkies, I mean Perkis breaks into the win column, albeit against a gutjob, but your 1st pro win is still a win. TP, provided they stick together will avoid relegation due to the gutters.

Zeta
Zeta's GOTW, at least going in, was a matchup between the 9-0 Stockholm Meatballs and the 8-1 Korb Destroyers. The Swedish-Italian treats started strong and never looked back. Stockholm scored the first 16 points of the game behind steady rushing and efficient passing. Korb on the other hand was only able to run the ball 17 times for 24 yds and their passing game was shut down 20/45 for a measly 4.5 per attempt. Stockholm led 23-3 at the half and cruised through the second half as no TDs were scored. Korb was humbled by the loss and Stockholm joins BFM as the only undefeated teams in Zeta.

2ns place and still undefeated Black Forest Mercenaries took on a tough, but up and down squad, the London Hitmen. The story for BFM all season has been steady and efficient offense and a lock down defense and that's exactly what happened here. London never reached paydirt and settled for 4 FGs while being sacked 8 times and held to 69 yds rushing on 46 attempts, that's 1.5 per, yikes. BFM also tallied 2 interceptions and forced London to punt 7 times. BFM walked away with a 35-12 win.

4th place 8-2 Grass Roots Divot got back on track after a two game slide in dealing last place Sevilla a 59-13 thrashing. Winless Sevilla started off strong and probably had GRD worried as the Naranjas went up 10-0 early and the half time score was 14-10 in favor of GRD, but the faint glimmer of hope Sevilla had was curb-stomped into oblivion in the second half. GRD outscored Sevilla 45-3 in the second half and piled up 500+ yards while holding Sevilla to 235.

In other Zeta games:
The GOTW turned out to be a hotly contested game between the 6-4 Antwerp Annihilators and the 5-5 London Rippers. After a scoreless 1st quarter London pulled to a large 17-3 lead at halftime after scoring a TD with 27 seconds left. The third quarter started like the 1st, with punt after punt, but Antwerp tightened things a bit with a TD. However, London extended their lead with 2 FGs in the 4th to 23-10. Antwerp rallied for an 80 yd TD drive to get within 6 with 3:23 left. London followed with a 3 and out and Antwerp then drove 66 yds to take the lead with TD with only 40 seconds to go. London started its final drive with a 6 yd sack which left them with 2 and 16 on their own 25 yd line with only 26 seconds left. After two pass plays got them 20.5 yds and with no timeouts remaining the clock stood at 20 seconds and London had the ball on their own 45.5, but they pulled off the impossible. They completed an 18.5 yd pass to the Antwerp 36.5 yd line and with the clock still running they were able to get the FG unit on the field and boom a 53.5 yd FG as time expired to get the improbable 26-24 win. Well done.

Another tight and dramatic game was the Rivals Manboard Pimps last minute heroics over ATOIAF. This game was very even with back and forth scoring throughout. ATOIAF kicked a go ahead FG with 47 seconds left. However, second guessers may question kicking the FG on 2nd down as it left RMP with just enough time to complete a 65.5 yd TD pass to a streaking WR for the game winning TD. RMP has quietly risen to 7-3 and 5th place. ATOIAF falls to 5-5.

The Berlin Ballers 5-5 are also back on track as they ride their offense to a 48-37 win over the Cardiff Bluebirds.Cardiff just couldnt keep up with the Berlin offense though they certainly did well themselves. Berlin averaged 4.6 per rush on 46 carries and also a whopping 11 yds per pass attempt. In total Berlin outgained Cardiff 520-338. Berlin trailed entering the 4th, but put it away with 3 straight TDs.

The Disgruntled Bowl featured the 2-8 Edinburgh Black Knights and the 3-7 Dallas Browns. Edinburgh kept Dallas' rushing game in check and steady attack netted Edinburgh a 27-3 advantage and an eventual 27-10 final score. Dallas is left reeling and both teams are in danger of not making the playoffs.

Lyon Dynasty 3-7 defeated the hapless PPP Longnecks 42-16. PPP, like Sevilla the Longnecks cannot seem to get anything going this season and are in danger of relegation after this loss. Lyon was in control the whole game, racking up 615 yards of offense.

Don't worry Team Perkis is sticking together. Despite our struggles we have a strong core here and we will be back better than ever next season.

Great News!

When BFM moved up, it only won 4 games. Next year 15-1 regular season. Things can turn around quickly with a few key moves.

Nice job WOC - just a shame the Monarchs AWC game wasn't mentioned.

I can only hope we are that successful next season. It will take some time but we will improve for sure.
