They changed up their gameplan to make it so the QB bootlegs in different formations, I can't throw away my entire defensive gameplan and blitz every CB to stop it, and I can't shift the LB's.

I know a large part of the problem is the lack of speed in the secondary and the lack of tackling ( we had 34 missed tackles in the game) but still I'd like to at least cut down a bit of the damage it does. I made some other mistakes, and I know that it wasn't the sole factor of the loss, but it played a large part.

So essentially its impossible to stop when they run it out of the I?

No you are just being inflexible. You said you refuse to blitz CBs or shift the LBs. How do you expect to stop it by changing nothing?

EDIT: Also, jsyk, you are not alone. QB runs are a very difficult thing for a peewee defense to stop.

what about using zone defence then ?

zone blitz gets fooled by the run and players just sit there and wiggle around. The guys pretty much found an exploit in the game and in the next couple of season unless it is not fixed pee wee will be a QB bootleg happy league for guys who just want to win.

This, but better be sure he's running. Possibly the pre-set play where the DEs go out to the flats could work...in theory at least.

why? most peewee QBs are very inaccurate and when they do hit the receiver, they drop quite a few of them anyways
