They seem to be a victim of the sim, a bit. My team sucks, as we have no active coordination. Misc seems a bit more like a victim of the frequent radical game changes.

The WR screen has been toned down and they haven't changed their tactics to reflect that change.

yep this is the type of thing that happened to us last season. though it was more of the sim changes than a tactics change. Hope they can turn it around because it sux to see the power houses of the past turn into the Pansies of the present.

eh, there is no flaming going on here. In fact this is something that can be discussed in a civil manner, because it is quite shocking that one of Alpha's best teams a year ago hasn't won a game yet.

They used to win by running the screen every play.
They can't anymore, and the standings reflects that. They still tried to run screens against us and they gained maybe a total of 10 yards on them. (most went for a short loss)
I'd like to see them change it up and play a little better Defense to boot, but they seem to be stuck in a rut.
Either way, despite their shenanigans, they've got some great talent on the team, and I'd certainly take some of them. They'll turn it around, I'm sure.

it was our turn to get borted. we tried to adjust year to year, last year it was the screen play.
this year its the power running game. too bad our power RB switched his build when bort killed that off a few years ago
we will tweak things but hopefully it can get turned around for season 9.
since we are one giant forum, we mirrored each others successful builds. now that the ideal build has changed, which means all of our guys at that position are hurting.
inb4 nthomas and his complaining about the misc. too bad his team sucks and the only reason he is in EE Pro is bc he requested it. fail!

Funny how Prague has never been affected by all of these strange mystery nerfs that everyone always talk about.
Balanced builds, balanced tactics .. no major changes ever .. and yet our play remains unchanged. Dominant

The thing is, when you have 45 players on your team and the agents all know each other, and have from season 1 your builds start to migrate towards one another. You see what works pretty quickly because of it, and you adjust to that. You also build around the other players because you know what they're building towards and what the overall strategy is, it makes for a pretty cohesive unit, all and all.
The fact that we don't like bringing in outside people (like a powerback just for an example) doesn't help that. When a major change is made, ie. a huge hit to the effectiveness to speed (which we've always been known to be built around), rather than it hitting parts of the team, it hits the entire team and literally every player you have is affected, hugely, as well as your strategy and your overall effectiveness.
As for the strategy piece, I'm sure that's certainly part of it. However, the fact is both of our teams are getting demolished this year, and they both use vastly different game strategies. The common denominator is builds.
That said, it's funny you mentioned never being affected for Prague. Guess what, until the last two seasons, we weren't either, so I wouldn't get too cocky on that notion because your time just may come, like it has for tons of teams in the past, or maybe it won't, who knows.
In the end, we'll adjust, the 5 levels you get a season just makes it take a bit longer to rework builds as Bort changes things and if we can keep our people around and interested, we should be fine, if it's not changed again next season of course.

Well people have complained about nerfs every season and Prague other than the time that I lived in a hotel and didnt have regular internet access, has been completely dominant.
We have the same situation on our team .. 80% of our players have never played one snap on any other team since I bought it in Week 9 of Season 1, most of us came onto my team as L4s who just started the game and boosted.
But keeping build control and being logical about your builds is the responsibility of the owner in the end. Ive had to get rid of a few people who didnt follow my
"Know your role"
Build strategy .. however for the most part, we have had balanced builds and we shift gear when its needed and are fine with whatever changes come about. I completely agree that levels and SPs are few and far between to adjust dramatically to changes in the sim, but building your player such that dramatic changes arent needed and just some team cash to shift around your gear .. thats how my team maintains constant and level.

I'm reading what you're saying and in my head I'm going through all of the times over the previous seasons where teams got nuked and were bitching on the board and was saying the same thing to myself...... dead serious.
That said, it's great that your balanced building worked for you. That doesn't change the fact that for 7 seasons, over 3 teams our building worked for us and before this year out of the 16 seasons our teams played, we had yet to miss the playoffs, ever. Clearly our builds worked, and were fairly dominant, in the scope of the way the game was designed and ran for the last 12 months.
The fact is, we were built within the scope of the game, and how it was designed. To say "you should have built more balanced", while in hindsight may be accurate, is fairly ignorant in my opinion. The fact that the game changes every 2 months is a completely illogical facet of the game.
Trying to guess what will be good through the seasons, contrary to what is currently working, and has historically worked isn't an art, or strong building, it's gambling. I'll also snip the "build realistically" thing right here and now, as most of our players (powerbacks, o-lineman, QB's) are "realistic" if you really think about it and look at attributes compared to other positions.
