Forgive me if this is a dead horse subject, but:

Does anyone out there have a slow build HIGH strength DE with ~1:1 agility:speed behind that? Seems with all the high agility DEs and the OTs following suit to keep up, the logical move would be to counter the high agility OTs with a DTish build DE that could run over the OT.

Youd think. Str gets a lot more hurries imo.

I have a lv47 DE playing in USA AAA with 107 STR, 76AGI, +63 SPD. (Including equip + VA) He has done well at LDE stopping the run game and clogging up the line. He has a few hurries and a decent amount of pancakes.

sounds like a plan vs. high agility OTs, but you won't find as many high agility OTs since they upgraded pancakes.

it really depends who you're up against.

a DE isnt going to run over a OT consistently.....which means at some point he must go around....which means at some point he will need the spd/agil that he sacrificed to get his strength high

There's a high strength DE(105 STR,73 AGI,68 SPD,upper 30's in level) on one of my teams and he does all right nothing special. His pass rush has improved a bit since he started dumping SPs into pass rush SAs.His pass rushing is a real weakness and he's not any better than the other DEs against the run so the long term viability of the strength build is still not good imho.

That's a good NT build not str DE. I consider a str DE to have 70 spd, 80 agi, 70 str.
